Multiple polymeric panels (10) molded as a rigid integral body having a planar top surface (11) and a bottom grid structure (25) are interlocked together mechanically along side edges (20) (12). Each side edge has alternating upwardly (14) and downwardly (22) facing steps with concave dimples (18) on one and mating convex projections (24) on the other for securely interlocking adjacent panels to each other. The steps of adjacent panels interlock with each other to form a complete floor system. The multiple polymeric panels can be molded to simulate flooring materials such as brick or overlaid with sections of linoleum, carpet, synthetic grass, tile or wood flooring. Alternately, the assembled panels can be covered with a sheet of decorative material.

A decorative paving tile or panel comprises a plurality of irregularly shaped stone elements of the same or differing thickness embedded in a backing layer or base to form a tile or panel of the predetermined thickness wherein the normally exposed surfaces of said stone elements lie in a plane substantially parallel to a mounting surface of said backing layer or base. A flowable displacement material may be employed in the interstices between adjacent stone elements and/or a boundary wall of a tile or panel mould to forma grouting channel. An irregular space between adjacent stone elements of adjacent tiles or panels allows the formation of an optically seamless tiled or panelled surface when grouted.

The present invention provides a tile and method of forming a tile, in which the tile comprises a base substrate and a laminate layer, whereby the substrate has upstanding edges on a top surface thereof, such that the edges define a rim at a perimeter of the substrate for aligning the laminate layer on the top surface of the substrate. The substrate comprises connecting means for engaging with connecting means of a substrate of a further tile to form an interconnected floor system. Engaging the connecting means of a tile with a further tile aligns and positions a side edge of the tile with the side edge of the further tile in a side by side arrangement to provide a grout effect for the tiles when connected.

The floor unit (70,711,712,713,714,715,716,717,72,73) is an enblock composed of one or more equiangular triangles, join points corresponded to the join points of the base plate are arranged on center points of at least a part of the equiangular triangles, and the join points are arranged on the undersurface of the floor units.
