Abstract:
A push switch structure for a display is provided, wherein the elastic sealing member 84 adheres to the periphery of the key switch body 83 for transmitting indication of the display 78. The key switch body is inserted into the opening portion of the elastic sealing member and the collar portion of the key switch body coheres to the elastic sealing member and is pressed with the cover. The key switch body is provided with the accommodating recess for a push-button switch 99. The key switch body is provided with the transparent electrode and the elastic sealing member coheres to the transparent electrode substrate arranged on the front of the display. An assembled unit 76 of the elastic sealing member and the key switch body is assembled to the display case 77, which is assembled to an assembly 96 of the control substrate 79 and the display. The elastic sealing member coheres to the front of the accommodating portion 87 and the display is put into close contact with the backside of the accommodating portion 87, and a part of the elastic sealing member is formed in a sector-shape between the key switch bodies and is bent to form the resilient portion. Thus, dust-and-waterproofing of the push switch for the display can be obtained.
Abstract:
A location sensitive touch panel for use on a rigid substrate. The substrate carries a first set of conductive strips. A resilient plastic membrane overlaying it carries a second set of conductive strips orthogonal to and spaced from the first set. Finger pressure can cause electrical contact between any one of the first set of strips and any one of the second set of strips. The substrate may be either flat or curved, with the membrane conforming to its contour.
Abstract:
A sensor/switching device configuration includes a substrate (14, 14', 214. 214', 314, 414, 914) and at least one element (16, 16', 216, 216', 316, 416, 912) imprinted on the substrate containing an electroconductive material, at least a portion of the imprinted element being visually indistinguishable from the substrate.
Abstract:
An improved membrane switch (10). The switch (10) includes a pair of transparent, laminar contacts (16, 18) sandwiching a spacer (30) formed therein so that the contacts (16, 18) can be engaged at the location of the window (36) by the application of pressure to one of the contacts (16, 18). Engagement of the contacts (16, 18) closes a circuit to effect a desired function. With this structure, the problem of back lighting method without distortion of the indicia being caused by silver conductive ink circuit of the prior art is eliminated.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An environmentally protected keyboard display and input device which may be utilized in conjunction with a variety of digital control systems such as automated bank tellers or building security systems. The keyboard display and input device includes a unitary, transparent flexible keyboard (16) having thickened portions forming keys (36). The keyboard forms an environmental seal including a peripheral gasket to protect an underlying, transparent, pressure sensitive switching assembly (18), which, in turn, overlies a corresponding visual display (24) of alphanumeric characters which indicate the significance of the individual pressure sensitive switches and corresponding keys overlying each character. Pins (66, 68) are formed on the underside of the flexible keyboard (16), below each key (36), to focus and concentrate pressure exerted on each key to the corresponding presure sensitive switch below. An optical grid (22) is provided to restrict the viewing of the alphanumeric characters to the user of the device, to prevent compromising the data input.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A resistive film touch panel (8) wherein an upper electrode sheet (1) having an upper electrode (111) on one face of a flexible transparent film (9) and a hard coating layer (12) on the other face and a lower electrode sheet (2) having a lower electrode (121) confronting the upper electrode on one face of a glass substrate (10) are opposed to each other through a spacer (13) between the upper and lower electrodes and the upper and lower electrodes are bonded at their peripheries with an adhesive layer (3). The transparent film and the hard coating layer are fused at their edge portions, and a surface portion of the side edge face of the glass substrate is a compressive stress layer (10a).
