Abstract:
A method of upgrading software through a software download in a Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB) terminal includes the steps of announcing when the software is downloaded by receiving a T-DMB signal and analyzing a plurality of fast information groups (FIGs), determining whether the software is downloaded, storing ensemble information and download start time information; matching a current ensemble with the stored ensemble when time according to the download start time information elapses, and confirming a signaling message for informing that the software is downloaded and downloading the software.
Abstract:
Provided are a method and apparatus for transmitting digital multimedia broadcasting data, and a method and apparatus for receiving digital multimedia broadcasting data. A basic audio signal and a multichannel audio signal are encoded to generate a basic audio stream and a multichannel audio stream, and a first data stream describing property and position data of the basic audio stream and a second data stream describing property and position data of the multichannel audio stream are transmitted as independent streams. According to the performance of the receiving apparatus, an audio signal may be decoded by using just the first data stream only or both the first data stream and the second stream.
Abstract:
Provided are a DMB receiving portable apparatus for human body communication, a DMB transmitting method thereof, and an HMD apparatus and method for DMB reception using human body communication. The digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) receiving portable apparatus for human body communication includes: a DMB receiver adapted to perform DMB Rx signal processing on a DMB signal to convert the DMB signal into an audio/video signal, and transmit to a transmission electrode an intermediate frequency (IF) band broadcast signal or a transmission stream (TS) generated in the DMB Rx signal processing; and the transmission electrode adapted to apply the IF band broadcast signal or the TS to the human body as a DMB signal for human body communication.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal including a broadcast receiver configured to receive broadcast program information related to available broadcast programs, a memory configured to store user-schedule information and the received broadcast program information, and a controller configured to update the stored user-schedule information to include a broadcast schedule corresponding to a broadcast program selected from the available broadcast programs included in the broadcast program information.
Abstract:
Embodiments presented herein are directed to “content linking multicast streaming” The embodiments connect a listener to over-the-air (OTA) broadcast radio content using an Internet Protocol (IP) multicast stream of the broadcast radio content when, for example, (i) a traditional broadcast radio receiver is not available, or (ii) an OTA broadcast radio signal that carries the content is not available. For example, when recovery of the OTA broadcast radio signal by a car radio is not possible because of poor reception or because the car radio is not configured with a suitable broadcast radio tuner, the embodiments generate a link to a multicast stream of the OTA broadcast radio content (also referred to as a “multicast broadcast radio stream” or simply a “multicast stream”), and provide the link to the car radio. The car radio can then access the multicast stream of the OTA broadcast radio content using the link.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for transmitting and receiving audio, particularly, to a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving of object-based audio contents, which packetizes audio objects having the same characteristic. To achieve the above, the present invention includes filtering a plurality of ESs according to common information, adding a packet header to the respective filtered ESs and generate ES packets, aggregating all the generated ES packets and then adding a multi-object packet header to the aggregated ES packets to generate an object packet, and multiplexing the generated object packet, packetizing the multiplexed object packet according to a transmitting media and transmitting the packetized object packet.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing a mobile broadcasting service over a cable broadcasting network are provided. A mobile broadcast signal and a cable broadcast signal are transmitted over the cable broadcast network. The cable broadcast signal and the mobile broadcast signal are filtered to pass the mobile broadcast signal, and the passed mobile broadcast signal is sent to a mobile broadcast terminal.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for providing a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) service using a digital TeleVision (TV) and an external device are provided. It is determined whether a received broadcast channel supports a Multi Mode Service (MMS), and if so, one of subchannels included in the broadcast channel is set to a main channel. The digital TV reproduces a broadcast signal via the main channel, and broadcast signals of subchannels excluding the main channel are transmitted to at least one external device in communication with the digital TV.
Abstract:
A method for automatically tuning a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) channel in an audio video navigation (AVN) system having a dual-tuner is provided. The method includes performing a best station memory (BSM) function by a first tuner, and receiving traffic information by a second tuner. A controller determines whether DMB viewing is requested by a user. When the DMB viewing is requested by the user according to the determination result, digital multimedia broadcast is received by the first tuner. Alternately, traffic information is received, and the BSM function is performed by the second tuner. When the DMB viewing is not requested by the user according to the determination result, a current state is maintained.
