PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a printing quality is improved by suppressing the vibration of a mirror mounted on a light scanning unit. SOLUTION: In an exposure unit 10 including: a laser scanning unit 11 for emitting a multiple number of beams; a polygon mirror 12 for deflecting the multiple beams by reflection with the same face; an optical system for radiating the beams correspondingly to a multiple number of photoreceptor drums 21 laid out along an auxiliary scan direction, the bottom 10b of a casing 10a of the exposure unit 10 to which the polygon mirror 12 and the optical elements arranged along the directions of the beams emitted from the polygon mirror 12 are attached is constructed so that the attachment portions of individual optical elements for each beam are differentiated in thickness from the areas where no attachment portion is formed. Abstract:
A housing includes a first portion and second portion. Each of the first and second portions supports a mirror and are connected and prevented from independent movement through a cover glass plate. The connection between the portions of the housing reduces the amount of angular change of mirrors within the housing resulting from a change in temperature, and thereby reduces the amount of displacement of a reading point of an image receiving element during the temperature change. The reading point is projected along an optical path including multiple reflections from the mirrors. A first connection device tightly fits the cover glass plate between the first and second portions of the housing, and a second connection device adheres the cover glass plate to the first and second portions of the housing.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control method capable of simultaneously realizing a poster printing and a double face printing by suitably controlling the order of output pages of an image to be divided. SOLUTION: A host computer 3000 generates printing data for making a double-face printable printer 1500 perform double face printing of printing data of two continued pages and also enlarge the respective pages to dividedly print them on a plurality of mediums. Therefore, the printing data of the first page are divided to a predetermined number of printing data according to the number of printing papers, the printing data of the second page are similarly divided. Certain printing data within the printing data of the first page divided to the predetermined number and certain printing data within the printing data of the second page are selected. The selected printing data of the first page and the printing data of the second page are outputted to the printer 1500 so as to be printed on the surface and reverse side of the same medium, respectively. Poster printing and double-sided printing are realized concurrently by controlling an order of outputting pages for a divided image. A printer prints two consecutive pages of print data on both sides of a sheet of paper, and a host computer generates print data such that each page of print data is enlarged and divided and resultant data is printed on a plurality of media. A first page of print data is divided into a predetermined number of pieces in accordance with the number of sheets of print paper, and a second page of print data is divided in the same manner. Respective pieces of print data for the first and second pages are selected from the pieces of print data. Then, the selected pieces of print data for the first and second pages are printed on front and back sides, respectively, of a medium.

A linear guiding apparatus at least has a shaft and a shaft holding apparatus. The shaft holding apparatus is adapted to slide along the shaft. The shaft holding apparatus includes a body, an elastic member and an adjusting member. The body has a V-shape supporting surface, wherein the V-shape supporting surface is along the axis direction of the shaft and supports on outer edge of the shaft. The elastic member is mounted on the body, wherein the elastic member is elastically contacted the outer edge of the shaft, and the shaft is clipped between the elastic member and the V-shape supporting surface. The adjusting member is mounted on the body and contacted the elastic member, wherein the adjusting member is utilized to adjust the position of the elastic member. Therefore, a shaft of any diameter can be clipped between the elastic member and the V-shape supporting surface.

A multi-function peripheral includes an image forming unit having an image forming device, and an image reading unit having an image reading device and located above the image forming unit. The image forming device forms an image on a recording sheet with moving a carriage reciprocally in a predetermined horizontal direction. The image reading device reads an image of an object by moving an image capturing element in the predetermined horizontal direction when the image forming unit operates. Spring elements are provided between the image forming unit and the image reading unit to apply an urging force therebetween in a direction parallel to the predetermined horizontal direction. The spring elements satisfy the following condition: f f n > 2 , where, f and fn are characteristic frequencies of the image forming unit and the image reading unit, respectively, in the predetermined horizontal direction.

A method of controlling printing is provided, by which poster printing and double-sided printing are realized at the same time by suitably controlling an order of outputting pages for a divided image. A printer 1500 capable of double-sided printing prints two consecutive pages of print data on both sides of a sheet of paper, and a host computer 3000 generates print data such that each of the pages of print data is enlarged and divided and resultant data is printed on a plurality of media. Therefore, a first page of print data is divided into a predetermined number of pieces of print data in accordance with the number of sheets of print paper, and a second page of print data is also divided in the same manner. Next, a particular piece of print data for the first page and a particular piece of print data for the second page are selected from the predetermined number of pieces of print data for each of the first and second pages. Then, the selected pieces of print data for the first and second pages are output to the printer 1500 so that they are printed on a front and back sides, respectively, of a medium.

Abstract:
A combination of an optical module and a transmitting and carrying structure includes an optical module, at least one carrying seat, and two rollers. The at least one carrying seat is combined with the optical module, for mounting the two rollers. The two rollers are located at the two opposite sides of the optical module. The two opposite sides of the optical module are perpendicular to the movement direction of the optical module. Thus, the at least one carrying seat and the two rollers are used to support and transmit the optical module, so that the optical module may be well balanced. In addition, the assembly height and the cost of fabrication are reduced.

An image reading apparatus includes a scanner and an ADF. The scanner includes a housing having an upper surface which is formed of a document table glass and a through-read glass. The housing contains first and second carriages which can slide along rails. In a through-read mode, the first carriage is moved to a reading position below the through-read glass, and the case of the first carriage is magnetically held by a fixing mechanism, and the first carriage is fixed at a reading position. A vibration-absorbing member is interposed between the fixing mechanism and the case.
