A kit and process are provided for working metals, said kit comprising a metal nitride and/or metal carbonitride coated metal working tool and a water soluble metal working fluid, said fluid comprising a relatively large alkoxylated amine, an alkanolamine and an acid-derived compound selected from organic acids, inorganic acids, and salts thereof, and said process comprising contacting a metal workpiece with said metal working tool in the presence of said fluid to effectuate working of said metal.

The apparatus comprises a first pair of photosensors (50E, 80W) arranged at symmetrically opposed positions on a first horizontal axis (16) rotatable around a third vertical axis (14), and a second pair of photosensors (50N, 50S) arranged at symmetrically opposed positions on a second axis (18) perpendicular to and rotatable around the first axis. To the first and third axes are connected driving means which operate when there are differences in outputs between the first pair of photosensors and between the second pair of photosensors, respectively.

In accordance with the instant invention, a water-based hydraulic fluid, having- improved viscosity can be obtained by blending a carboxylic acid with a thickened hydraulic fluid compositiop employing a thickener obtained by modifying a conventional polyether polyol thickening agent with an alpha-olefin epoxide or glycidyl ether having about 10 to 22 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof. Small amounts of higher molecular weight glycols may also be incorporated into the chain.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein pastenartiges Dämpfmedium, das zur Dämpfung von mechanischen und/oder akustischen Schwingungen geeignet ist. Das pastenartige Dämpfmedium enthält als Mindestbestandteile einen feinverteilten Feststoff bzw. ein feinverteiltes Feststoffgemisch und als Flüssigphase ein Silikonöl, Polyglykol und/oder einen gesättigten, aliphatischen oder aromatischen Carbonsäureester. Bei Verwendung von Polyglykol oder eines Carbonsäureesters als Flüssigphase ist es von Vorteil, ein Mittel zur Erhöhung der Grenzflächenaktivität (Netzmittel) und feinverteilte Magnesiumsilikate, Aluminiumsilikate und/oder feinverteiltes Siliziumdioxid als Viskositätsstabilisatoren und gegebenenfalls geringe Zusätze eines Antioxidationsmittels als Mischungsbestandteil zu verwenden. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der pastenartigen Dämpfmedien und die Verwendung der pastenartigen Dämpfmediun in den verschiedenartigsten hydraulisch wirkenden Stoß-und Schwingungsdämpfern.
