Abstract: This invention relates to a structural coating comprising a polymeric resin, a borate-based additive, and a dynamic stabilization material. The borate-based additive provides corrosion protection through electrochemical binding of active surface corrosive sites, lubrication enhancement through the creation and re-supply to a surface where friction contact occasionally occurs of a weak slip lane crystalline material which may be a locally formed product utilizing local atmospheric humidity, and a material for reaction with an initiator to provide for freezing point depression during coating application. The dynamic stabilization material creates a balance of stabilized material for supply of corrosion protection product, lubrication reduction product, and freezing point depression product.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Novel water soluble metal working fluid compositions are provided which are useful in cutting, grinding, shaping and other metal working operations which require a lubricant and are also anticorrosive and environmentally more acceptable than current oil based fluids. CONSTITUTION: The essentially odorless, substantially non-oil misting, water-soluble metalworking fluid comprises at least one component selected from a first Group A herein and optionally one or more components selected from a second Group B herein preferably with the balance of the composition being water and other (optional) minor ingredients. When a component is employed from Group A and a component is employed from Group B, the action of the combination generally enhances performance of the resulting combination with contain moieties from both Group A and Group B.

This is especially an oligo-dec-1-ene with a degree of oligomerisation of 3 and higher. Abstract: A lubricant is provided for use in hot working such as cross-roll rolling of a seamless steel pipe. It effectively reduces the friction coefficient between the working tools and the material under the hot work, thus extending the lives of the tools. The lubricant contains: (A) from about 10 to about 60 wt% of alkali silicate; (B) from about 1 to about 20 wt% of silane coupling agent; (C) from about 0.1 to about 5.0 wt% of at least one kind of alkali compound selected from a group consisting of an alkali hydroxide, an alkali carbonate, an alkali borate and an alkali salt of mineral acid; and (D) from about 30 to about 70 wt% of water. Alternatively, the lubricant contains: (A) from about 10 to about 60 wt% of alkali silicate; (B) from about 1 to about 20 wt% of silane coupling agent; (C) from about 0.1 to about 5.0 wt% of at least one kind of alkali compound selected from a group consisting of an alkali hydroxide, an alkali carbonate, an alkali borate and an alkali salt of mineral acid; (D) from about 5 to about 50 wt% of water; (E) from about 10 to about 60 wt% of iron oxide; and (F) from about 0.1 to about 5.0 wt% of at least one additive selected from a group consisting of a dispersant and a thickening agent.

Abstract: A metal-working oil composition containing:- (A) one or more lube-oil components which are oils and fats, mineral oils or fatty acid esters; and (B) one or more polyetherpolyol dispersants which are made by adding alkylene oxides to polyalkylene- imines or -polyamines, alkyl- or alkylaryl-amines, or carboxylic acid amides, or their derivatives, e.g. polyetherpolyol derivatives having molecular weights of 300 to 600,000 and obtained by adding alkylene oxides to polyalkyleneimines. Incorporation of the polyetherpolyol permits, owing to its protective colloidal function, stable dispersion of the lube-oil component as large droplets in water and hence the resulting dispersion enjoys good circulation stability and withstands severe machining conditions.
