Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in performance when a sliding surface lubricating agent is mixed with a lubricating agent for machining by using a lubricating agent consisting of a mineral oil or synthetic oil, an extreme pressure agent, and an emulsifying agent each having a specified wt%, and having a coefficient of dynamic friction with less than a specified value, for a sliding surface, and a diluted liquid of said lubricating agent for a machining portion. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil consisting of a 10-90wt% mineral oil or synthetic oil with a 1.5-250cst of viscosity at 40 deg.C, a 0-30wt% extreme pressure agent such as a mixture, etc. of a sulfide oil and a phosphate ester, and a 10-60wt% emulsifying agent such as an sliphatic soap, etc., and having a coefficient of dynamic friction of less than 0.2, is used for the sliding surface of a machine tool, and a diluted liquid of this lubricating agent is used for a metal machining portion. In this case, the use of a lubricating agent having a coefficient of dynamic friction of 0.2 or more may cause a stick slip, reducing machining accuracy. Thus, since both functions as a sliding surface lubricating agent and as a metal machining lubricating agent are fulfilled by the same types of lubricating agents, neither deterioration in metal machining performance, nor reduction in the life of lubricating agent takes place even if a lubricating agent used for the sliding surface of a machine tool may be mixed into one in the metal machining portion.

1522148 Fibre lubricants OWENS-CORNING FIBERGLAS CORP 29 July 1975 [3 Oct 1974] 31713/75 Heading C5F [Also in Division C3] Glass fibres which are to be used as a reinforcement for thermoplastic or thermosetting polymers are coated with the dried residue of an aqueous size that comprises an amide of a fatty acid with a secondary amine that has two organic chains each of which has a ratio of carbon to oxygen no more than 4 and each of which includes a hydroxyl group, together with an emulsified film-former. Preferably the secondary amine is an ethylene oxide adduct of a dialkanolamine. Preferably also the size contains a silane glass-coupling agent. The film-former may be an epoxy resin or a polyurethane, or the two together or a polyester. The coating improves lubrication of the fibres during wet and dry handling and also improves the bond between glass and polymer.
Abstract:
Mechanical working of cast iron is performed in the presence of an aqueous metalworking composition containing an organic copper (II) complex and an iron corrosion inhibitor. An aqueous concentrate, which after dilution with water is suitable for application in mechanical working of cast iron, contains 1-50% copper (II) complex with such a Cu2+-content of 0.5-20%, 1-50% iron corrosion inhibitor, 0-50% lubricant, 0-20% pH-regulators, bactericides and solubilizing agents and 10-70% water.

PURPOSE:To provide the titled die lubricant which consists of phosphoric acid (salt), boric acid (salt), salt or hydroxide of alkali metal and laminar silicate in specified proportions and exhibits excellent lubricating and release properties. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble glass (A) is prepared by mixing 14-50mol% (as P2O3) phosphoric acid (salt), 0-80mol% (as B2O3) boric acid (salt) and 30- 80mol [as M2O (M is alkali metal)] at least one compd. selected from among carbonate, nitrate, sulfate and hydroxide of alkali metal (e.g. Na2CO3) and melting the mixture followed by quenching. For applications where the lubricity is important, 91-99.5wt% (A) is mixed with 9-0.5 laminar silicate (B) (e.g. white mica) and for applications where importance is attached to the releasability 0.5-39wt% (A) is mixed with 99.5-61wt% (B).
Abstract:
A high water based hydraulic fluid having about 95% water and a concentrate comprising a zincdihydrocarbyldithiophosphate, the reaction product of an alkanolamine, preferably triethanolamine, and a phosphate ester acid of the general formula: where R4 is hydrocarbyl, R5 is alkyl, each n is independently 1 or 2 and x is between 1 and 20, and optionally a polyalkylene glycol of molecular weight between 1000 and 100000. A method of preparing a concentrate is also disclosed.

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable and easily applicable corrosion inhibitor having low toxicity, showing superior anticorrosive power to various metals, and usable as any of water- and oil-soluble inhibitors by using a salt of a dicarboxylic acid having a specified structure as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:This corrosion inhibitor contains at least 1 kind of salt of a dicarboxylic acid represented by one of the general formulae, wherein each of R1 and R2 is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group, each of R3 and R4 is a 1-4C hydrocarbon group or a 6-12C hydrocarbon group having an aromatic ring, each of m and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3, X is O, S, SO2 CO or a 1-9C hydrocarbon group. Said dicarboxylic acid can be easily synthesized from the corresponding diphenol compound and acid halide, and the dicarboxylic acid and an alkali such as NaOH are heated and stirred in the presence of a reaction solvent to obtain a dicarboxylate which is contained in the inhibitor. The amount of the alkali is equal to or slightly larger than the amount of the dicarboxylic acid.
