Abstract:
A lubricating composition comprising (a) a lubricating oil, (b) at least one phosphite ester of pentaerythritol, and (c) at least one compound selected from phosphate monoesters and diesters and phosphonates is suitable for metal forming, particularly for plastic working of aluminum and aluminum alloy with excellent formability and heat resistance.
Abstract:
Organic peroxide curable polydiorganosiloxane compositions having improved release from metal molds upon curing are disclosed. In addition to the conventional high molecular weight polydiorganosiloxane gum, reinforcing filler, structure control additives, and curing agent, the improved compositions of this invention contain from 0.05 to 3 parts by weight of a polydiorganosiloxane fluid having methyl groups and carboxyfunctional groups as substituents.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A composition of matter suitable for use as a lapping composition is provided which has improved lubricity, abrasive suspension and cleanability and which contains an amide of the formula R 1 CON (R 2 0H) (R 3 0H) in an amount of 4% to 20% by weight and an oil in an amount of 65% to 96% by weight. The lapping composition may have a wide range of amounts of water mixed into it to form a water-in-oil emulsion in which an abrasive agent may be suspended. Because of the wide ratios available between the water and oil phase amounts, the emulsion can be prepared relatively oil rich for fine lapping operation and may later be diluted for rough lapping operation.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A lubricant for refrigerating machines with the use of an ammonia refrigerant which comprises at least one polyether represented by the general formula (I): X{-O-(AO)n-H}p, wherein X represents a residue obtained by eliminating hydroxyl from a monool or a polyol; (AO)n is formed by the copolymerization of EO with AO having at least 3 carbon atoms; n is a number of 2 or more; and p represents the valence of X; wherein, among the hydroxyl groups at the terminal structure, secondary hydroxyl groups amount to at least 50 % of the total hydroxyl groups; or a polyether represented by the general formula (II): X{-O-(AO1)a-(AO2)b-H}p, wherein X represents a residue obtained by eliminating hydroxyl from a monool or a polyol; (AO1)a represents polyoxyalkylene formed by the copolymerization of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide; (AO2)b represents oxyalkylene having at least 3 carbon atoms; a is a number of 2 or more; b is a number of 1 or more; and p represents the valence of X.
Abstract:
This invention provides a release agent for low speed casting, which does not pollute working environment, has a superior running property and lubricating property and further shows a superior cleanability of a die. An aqueous release agent for a low speed injection die casting comprises as main components an inorganic lubricant, spherical resin particles having an average particle size of 0.1-10 mu m, an organic carboxylic acid metal salt and water.
Abstract:
This invention discloses novel catalyzed surface coating additives and catalyzed surface coating systems, which contain one or more catalysts, along with optional other ingredients, wherein the catalysts serve to effect in situ chemical bonding reactions in that the catalysts function to initiate, to promote, to accelerate, and/or to increase the formation and yield of persistent, solid, corrosion resistant, impact resistant, wear resistant, and/or non-stick surface coating films which may exhibit pigmentation and other aesthetic features, and may be designed to be environmentally benign.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition for the plastic working of metals that does not require a phosphate undercoating, is waterborne, requires only a simple application process of immersion or spraying followed by drying, and provides an excellent lubricating performance comprises synthetic resin, water-soluble inorganic salt, and water. The weight ratio of the content of salt to that of synthetic resin is from 0.25:1 to 9:1. This composition can also contain liquid and/or solid lubricating agent(s) and extreme pressure additive.
