Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable cap for quickly protecting the head in an emergency and disaster by securely functioning a means for retaining spread state with easy operation and a little force. SOLUTION: A body 10A of the foldable cap includes the means for retaining spread state wherein the foldable cap is spread by mutually approaching folding inclination parts 15b and 15c of a connecting part 15 and by deforming a front flat plate 12 and a rear flat plate 13 from a flat state against elasticity. The means for retaining a spread state is provided with an engaging part 21 which is arranged outside the folding inclination parts 15b and 15c, and an engaged part 22 which is engaged with and disengaged from the engaging part 21. One end of a fastening string 23 is connected to the engaging part 21 and extended inside by passing through the folding inclination parts 15b and 15c. An end of a chin strap 24 is connected to the engaging part 21. When the chin strap 24 is pulled, the engaging part 21 is engaged with the engaged part 22 so as to retain the spread state.
