Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for handling packet discard in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: The method includes: activating a "use of a special value of a header extension field" mode; discarding a plurality of service data units (SDUs); indicating an ending position of the last SDU of the plurality of SDUs using the special value in a header extension field for a first protocol data unit (PDU); and setting a value of a field to be a sequence number of a second PDU. In a case where the special value of the header extension field is used for the PDU, data follow the special header extension bit field and a last octet of the PDU indicates a last octet of the SDU. The field is utilized for indicating a receiver to discard all not yet successfully received SDUs that have segments with sequence number being less than the value of the field, and the second PDU is next to the first PDU. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for enhancing receiving efficiency of a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) in a wireless communications system. SOLUTION: The disclosed method includes setting an indicator for indicating whether an MBMS is transmitted over a Single Frequency Network (SFN) carrier or not, and sending the indicator to a user equipment (UE) of the wireless communications system. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for improving data transmission efficiency of an RRC (radio resource control) process while a UE (user terminal) in a CELL_FACH (cell forward access channel) state in a radio communication system executes a high-speed downlink function. SOLUTION: The method includes the stages of: executing the high-speed downlink function corresponding to the CELL_FACH state using a private H-RNTI (HS-DSCH radio network transaction identifier); actuating an RRC update process; executing the high-speed downlink function using a common H-RNTI instead when the private H-RNTI becomes unavailable; and executing the high-speed down link function continuously using the private H-RNTI when the private H-RNTI is held available. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for improving configurations of serving grants for a UE (user terminal) in a wireless communications system. SOLUTION: The method includes providing a scheduling grant table (SG table) for configuring a serving grant according to a reference value determined according to an absolute grant message when a relative grant message is received, and setting a maximum scheduled grant value of the SG table to be equal to or greater than a maximum absolute grant value capable of being indicated by the absolute grant message. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for enhancing a resource utilization rate in a wireless communication system to reduce power and computing resource consumption in a UE (user terminal). SOLUTION: The method includes stopping receiving a message through a first common channel and a second common channel and clearing related information, corresponding to the first and second common channels, when the UE receives a connection setup message configuring the UE to enter a CELL_DCH (cell-dedicated channel) state. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for improving transmission efficiency by reducing the amount of transmission of data in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: The method includes a step of utilizing a DAR (duplication avoidance and reordering) function by a logical channel continuously without allowing a first protocol entity in the wireless communication system to refer to a configuration of the DAR function of a high-order layer protocol entity. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for configuring SRB in a wireless communications system. SOLUTION: The method includes: performing a first ciphering procedure for a first NAS message to get a second Non-Access Stratum message; performing the first ciphering procedure for a third NAS message to get a fourth NAS message; generating a RRC message, which is not ciphered, in a RRC layer; combining the second NAS message with the RRC message to form a first concatenated message; performing a second ciphering procedure for the first concatenated message to get a second concatenated message; and not combining the fourth NAS message with any RRC message to get a non-concatenated message. The method is characterized in that the second ciphering procedure is not performed for the non-concatenated message, the non-concatenated message is transmitted on a first SRB, and the second concatenated message is transmitted on a second SRB being different from the first SRB. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for selecting an operating frequency corresponding to MBMS by user equipment in order to avoid discontinuance of MBMS reception by the user equipment in a CELL_DCH state. SOLUTION: The method includes a stage of judging whether the current operating frequency of the user equipment is an MBMS necessary frequency selected preferentially by a higher-layer protocol when an RRC state of the user equipment changes to the CELL_DCH state; and a stage of continuously using the current operating frequency when the current operating frequency of the user equipment is the MBMS necessary frequency selected preferentially by the higher-layer protocol. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for recovering a protocol error by actuating a reset process timely. SOLUTION: The method for recovering the protocol error compises a step for establishing a first signal RB (wireless bearer) and actuating an integrity protection process of the first signal RB, a step for receiving a first message through the first signal RB, and a step for considering that the first message is not yet received when specific conditions are met and actuating the synchronization process of encryption parameters. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for header setting capable of eliminating a length indication field of a packet header, and increasing transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: The method includes a step for indicating an end position of a final SDU (service data unit) transmitted by a PDU and not attaching the length indication field comprising multiple bits to the PDU, if certain conditions are met.
