Abstract:
A suture system includes a tool (50) and a suture assembly. The tool includes a head having a proximal portion (112) housing a needle (62) and a distal end (64) spaced apart from the proximal portion by a throat. The needle is movable through a needle exit port (123) formed in the proximal portion (132) of the head to a cavity (134) formed in the distal end of the head. The suture assembly includes a length of suture (154) connected to a tubular leader. The tubular leader (152) includes an annular wall extending between an interior surface and an exterior surface, and a clasp having a first portion disposed between the interior surface and the exterior surface of the annular wall and a second portion extending out of the annular wall and adapted to secure the suture against the annular wall.

Abstract:
A Peyronie's treatment device is described that is configured to treat an erect penis (P) having curvature characterized by a first penis side with an unaffected length and a second penis side (40) with an affected length that is shorter than the unaffected length. The device includes a band (20) connected between a proximal support that is attachable to a base (B) of a penis and a distal support that is attachable adjacent a corona of the penis. The band has an elastic material and a second material that is attached to the elastic material. The second material is provided to stop elongation of the elastic material at a length approximately equal to the affected length of the erect penis.
Abstract:
The invention provides a polyacrylate obtained by radical polymerization of at least one acrylate monomer (Ac) in the presence of a polymeric photoinitiator. The polymeric photoinitiator is a co-polymer of at least one photoinitiator monomer (A) with at least one monomer (B), and optional additional monomers (C). Rapid polymerization of the acrylate monomer is provided. The invention also provides a method for producing a polyacrylate using the polymeric photoinitiator as described, and the use of a polymeric photoinitiator as a photoinitiator of radical polymerization of acrylate monomers.
Abstract:
Disclosed is abase plate 1 for an ostomy collection device, comprising a cover layer 2 whereon an adhesive layer 3 is at least partly disposed. Immediately surrounding a through-going hole 6,the base plate has an inner area wherein the cover layer extends beyond the adhesive layer in a radial direction toward the through-going hole, thereby providing an overlap7 protecting the adhesive material from contact with stomal output.
Abstract:
A body waste collecting device comprising a collecting pouch and an adhesive wafer for attachment to the body, said adhesive wafer comprises a backing layer, a first adhesive, a second adhesive and a release liner, wherein said second adhesive comprises a polar plasticising oil or a combination of polar plasticising oils in the content of above 10% (w/w) of the final second adhesive, and at least one polar polyethylene copolymer, wherein the content of the polyethylene copolymer is 10-50% (w/w) of the final second adhesive, the polyethylene copolymer has a melt flow index below 2 g/10min (190°C/21.1 N), and wherein the thickness of the second adhesive is 300-700 μm
Abstract:
The application discloses a flexible tubular package. The package is for an intermittent catheter. The intermittent catheter is coated with a hydrophilic coating, which becomes slippery when in contact with a swelling medium. Thus, the tubular package of the application can withhold the swelling medium for a long time and be flexible and bendable at the same time. Furthermore, the application discloses a catheter package set, which comprises a tubular package, an intermittent catheter and a swelling medium.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a device (10) for taking at least one sample of soft tissue from an organ, said device comprising a body (11) and a needle (12) arranged in the body and extending at least partly outside the body through the front end of the body, the needle is formed by a stylet and a cannula coaxial with said stylet. The device comprises a mechanism for arming the needle, designed for sequentially moving the stylet and then the cannula from a rest position to a shooting position wherein the stylet and the cannula are retracted towards the rear end of the body, and a triggering mechanism designed to release the stylet then the cannula and to allow their displacement from the shooting position to the rest position. The cannula is coupled to a cannula slider (24) comprising at least one retaining element (26) for maintaining the cannula slider in a shooting position. The stylet is coupled to a stylet slider (30) comprising at least one retaining element (32) for maintaining the stylet slider in a shooting position and means for unlocking the cannula slider. This device is characterized in that the stylet slider (30) comprises a support device (41) integral with the stylet and a guide device (42) mobile in the body (11) of the device, in that the displacement of the guide device (42) leads to the displacement of the support device (41) and in that the support device (41) and the guide device (42) have a clearance between each other.
Abstract:
An incontinence treatment device includes a urethral support and first and second connectors. The urethral support extends between a first end and a second end and has porosity that is configured to allow tissue in-growth through the urethral support. The first connector is attached to the first end of the urethral support and the second connector is attached to the second end of the urethral support. At least one of the first connector and the second connector is a cross- linked polymer connector having a glass transition temperature between 40-70 degrees Celsius. The cross-linked polymer connector has an initial length that is elongated to an implant length that is greater than the initial length. Means for heating the cross-linked polymer connector from an extracorporeal location through intact skin is provided, thereby shortening the cross-linked polymer connector.
Abstract:
An incontinence treatment system includes a rigid implant having an aspect ratio of greater than5 and an insertion tool. The insertion tool includes a post fixed to a handle and a sheath disposed around the post. The sheath is axially retractable relative to the post and has a length that is greater than a length of the post. The insertion tool has a loaded state in which the sheath extends distal the post to provide a recess at a distal end of the post that is sized to receive the rigid implant. The insertion tool has a deployed state in which the sheath retracts in a proximal direction toward the handle to expose the distal end of the post and allow the post to push the rigid implant out of the recess and into tissue.
