Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a net or near net shaped work surface includes providing a substrate and engaging a die with the substrate forming a die cavity enclosing a portion of the substrate. A powdered metal is introduced into the cavity, heated prior to and within the die cavity, and pressurized to consolidate the powdered metal. The die is then disengaged from the substrate. In one exemplary embodiment, the work surface forms the cutting teeth of a saw blade.

Abstract: A portable kit box for torch equipment comprising a lid, a tank compartment for holding at least one tank, and a base. The base defines a base surface for contacting and translating the kit box along a surface. The lid comprises a compartment for storing at least one tank and is movable between an open position and a closed position. The kit box has at least three positions relative to the surface. In the first position, the at least one tank is supported at an acute angle relative to the surface, in the second position the at least one tanks is supported approximately perpendicular to the surface, and in the third position, the at least one tank is supported approximately horizontal to the surface. The kit box further includes at least one storage compartment, a securing member for securing the lid to the base, and a handle.

Abstract: The self-adjusting locking pliers include a body having a fixed jaw supported at one end. A moveable jaw is pivotably supported on the body at a slidable pivot connection. A linkage transmits a force applied to the handles of the pliers to the jaws and locks the jaws in the clamping position. The linkage allows the angle between the links to be preset to thereby control the clamping force applied to the work piece. The movable jaw is selectively attached to the linkage in one of two positions such that the jaw span may be adjusted without affecting the geometry of the linkage.

Abstract: The wrench (1) comprises a handle (2) that is pivotably connected to a body portion. The body portion (6) supports a fixed jaw (10) . A movable jaw (16) is slidably supported on the body portion (S) such that the movable jaw (16) can move relative to the fixed jaw (IQ) to vary the spacing between the jaws. When the handle (2) is rotated in a first direction the spacing between the jaws increases to allow the jaws to slip over a work piece and provide a ratchet function. When the handle (2) is rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction the movable jaw (16) is moved towards the fixed jaw (10) to close on and grip the workpiece. In one embodiment a link moves the movable jaw (16) relative to the fixed jaw (10) and forms part of an dead/over-center locking mechanism.

Abstract: A tank jacket fits over the outside of a storage tank. The jacket includes a hole for receiving the regulator assembly. The tank jacket supports a hose support assembly for storing the supply hose and a plurality of pockets for retaining various accessories and tools. A gauge protector fits over the regulator assembly and includes a first housing section defining a first cavity for receiving the regulator and a second housing section defining a second cavity for receiving the pressure gauge. A handle is formed on the gauge protector to facilitate carrying of the tank. The gauge protector and tank jacket protect the tank and regulator assembly and provide a system for transporting the tank and related equipment.
