Abstract: A flexible shaft coupling (1) for torque transmission, particularly for ships' drives and the like, has a flexible diaphragm disc (6) which has a plurality of rubber bushes (7) distributed around its circumference. A coupling disc (4) carries a plurality of axially parallel driver pins (5) at its circumference. Each rubber bush (7) is carried in axially displaceable fashion on a driver pin (5). Axial displacements and angular displacements of the two shafts (2, 3) connected initially cause a deformation of the diaphragm disc (6) and, in the case of greater displacements, a sliding movement of the rubber bushes (7) on the driver pins (5). Overstressing of the shaft coupling is in this way avoided.

Abstract: The roller system has one set of rollers (9) supported under a central frame (13) with outer rollers (7, 8) on two outer frames (6) mounted on sliding frames (5) on pivots (12) at the ends of the main frame. The outer frames are extended to provide a wide working area. When the side frames are raised the sliding supports move the rollers along the side frames for a more compact arrangement, thereby reducing the height of the system. The slides are linked to cable pulls (15) attached to a central tensioner (18). Hydraulic rams (14) operate the folding action, with the ties automatically controlling the sliding action. USE/ADVANTAGE - Agricultural rollers with compact folded rig for road travel, simple erection process.
