피부세포를 이용한 실험 결과 프럭토스 1,6-디포스페이트가 자외선에 의한 글루타치온 생성감소를 억제하였고, 멜라닌 색소의 합성양을 감소시켰으며 동시에 자외선에 의한 세포 티로시나아제(tyrosinase) 활성증가를 방지하는 효능을 확인하였다. 또한 동물시험을 수행한 결과 프럭토스 1,6-디포스페이트가 자외선에 의해 유도된 색소침착을 개선하는 효과를 확인하였고, 인체시험에서 자외선에 의한 색소침착을 억제함을 확인하였다. 따라서, 프럭토스 1,6-디포스페이트를 함유하는 조성물은 멜라닌 생성을 줄이고, 자외선이나 염증에 의한 색소 침착을 차단할 수 있다.
