Abstract: PURPOSE: A door handle apparatus for refrigerator is provided to allow the door opening operation to be smoothly and easily performed by eliminating air pressure difference between the storage chamber and the outdoor air upon opening of the door. CONSTITUTION: A door handle apparatus(40) comprises a handle bar(43) having an end coupled through a shaft(41c) to the front surface of a refrigerator door(30) such that the handle bar is rotatable centering from the shaft; a lever(44) coupled through a shaft(42c) to the other front surface of the door such that the lever rotates in the opposite direction during the rotation of the handle bar; and an operating bar(46) having a front end contacting a front surface(12) of a cabinet such that the operating bar is coupled to an end of the lever and moves as being interlocked to the lever so as to separate the door from the cabinet. When the handle bar is pulled forward, the lever and the operating bar rotate, thereby pulling the front surface of the cabinet. Then, a gasket(31) arranged at the rear surface of the door is separated and a gap for introduction of outdoor air is generated.
