Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and method for performing access communication in a mobile communication system is provided to detect a starting point that a mobile station transmits a responding message for a control message without transmitting specific time information from a base station to the mobile station, so as to communicate data through a common channel in a communication system servicing multimedia data communication. CONSTITUTION: A system receives an access parameter message including information on a slot length and a preamble length through a forward common channel. The system checks dedicated information for designating a reverse common channel included in a control message received from the forward common channel as a dedicated channel. The system transmits a preamble during a section corresponding to the preamble length from a slot length limit. After transmitting the preamble, the system spreads a responding message for a control message as a spread code by the dedicated information, and transmits the spread responding message. After transmitting the spread responding message, the system checks whether a preamble non-acquisition display is received from a base station. The system returns to a preamble transmission step at the next detected slot limit.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for measuring a standing-wave ratio in a mobile communication system is provided to measure an intensity of a progressive wave signal and an intensity of a reflected wave signal after generating a test signal so as to acquire a transmitting antenna VSWR(Voltage standing Wave Ratio) and a receiving antenna VSWR, and to monitor/diagnose an error state or a failure part. CONSTITUTION: A test terminal is connected with a reflected wave combining terminal of a directional combiner to control a switch in order to select a reflected wave path. A system uses the test terminal to generate a test signal, and transmits the generated test signal to a transmitting antenna through the reflected wave path. The test terminal measures an intensity of the reflected wave signal through the reflected wave path. The test terminal is connected with a progressive wave combining terminal of the directional combiner to control the switch in order to select a progressive wave path. The test terminal measures an intensity of the progressive wave signal through the progressive wave path. The system acquires a difference between the progressive wave signal intensity and the reflective wave signal intensity, and uses the difference to calculate a standing-wave ratio for the transmitting antenna.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An over head test method using a base station test device in a CDMA/PCS system is provided to confirm a service providing state of a real terminal and a pertinent base station by making a BTU(Base station Test Unit) use an MS(Mobile Station), and by performing a log-in of important system parameter message transmitted by the base station. CONSTITUTION: It is confirmed whether each base station requests an overhead channel test or not, and a sector for being tested is selected, and an RF(Radio Frequency) switch in a BTU(Base station Test Unit) is controlled. Next, an MIN tuned with a frequency pertinent to the overhead channel is transmitted to the BTU. And, the BTU changes the MIN of the terminal through a serial interface with an MS(Mobile Station). It is confirmed whether the MS is tuned to a pertinent subcell or not, and whether an overhead channel pertinent to the subcell is normal or not.
