Abstract: A holographic record/playback apparatus having a relatively large tolerance to tilt of a holographic recording medium is provided to remove the need of additional constitution for tilt compensation or restriction and make the configuration simple. A holographic record/playback apparatus(20) comprises a light source(21), and an optical system which divides the light emitted from the light source into reference beam(R) and signal beam(S) and delivers the reference beam and signal beam to a holographic recording medium. The signal beam is projected to the upper surface of the holographic recording medium, and the reference beam is guided along the inside of the holographic recording medium by the total reflection by the refractive index difference between the holographic recording medium and outside.

Abstract: A holographic information recording/reproducing apparatus and a method for detecting tilts in the apparatus are provided to detect both radial and circumferential tilts of the holographic recording medium so as to reproduce signal light at optimal intensity and reduce reproducing time of the signal light. A holographic information recording/reproducing apparatus comprises a beam splitter(18), at least three lens devices(21,22,23), at least three light detectors(24,25,26), and a control part(28). The beam splitter is placed in front of an image sensor(17). The lens devices are arranged to focus signal light reflected from the beam splitter partially. The light detectors measure intensity of the signal light focused from the lens devices. The control part calculates radial and circumferential tilt amounts from the intensity of the signal light.

Abstract: A laser light source apparatus adopting a two-sided diffraction grating wedge and a method of detecting laser light are provided to control the wavelength of the emitted light by detecting wavelength and single mode oscillation of the laser light simultaneously through diffraction lattices of the two-sided diffraction grating wedge. A laser light source apparatus(400) comprises a laser diode(410), a diffraction device(430), a two-sided diffraction lattice wedge(450), and a multi division light detector(460). The diffraction device diffracts laser beam emitted from the laser diode and reflects a first diffraction light to the laser diode. The two-sided diffraction lattice wedge has first and second surfaces formed with diffraction lattices for diffracting the light. The multi division light detector detects position and vividness of an interference pattern formed by the light which is diffracted by the two-sided diffraction lattice wedge.

Abstract: A super-resolution recording medium is provided to solve a problem that a CNR(Carrier to Noise Ratio) value rapidly decreases at more than certain power while increasing as reproduction power increases during reproduction of the recording medium, thereby improving margins for the reproduction power. A substrate(510) is equipped. A super-resolution recording layer(530) leads a super-resolution phenomenon which enables marks which are less than resolution size to be reproduced by a super-resolution aperture area where optical characteristic changes or temperature dispersive changes occur among areas of an incident optical spot. A super-resolution aperture control layer(550) regularly maintains the super-resolution aperture area.
