    Abstract: A digital image processing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to re-photograph a subject automatically in case the eyes of a person included in a photographed image is closed. Under the control of a digital signal processing unit(129), an image is inputted from a photographing unit(123). A face recognizing unit(129-1) detects the size, position and direction of the face from the inputted image. An expression detecting unit(129-2) detects the facial expression of the photographed image. An expression determining unit(129-3) determines whether the eyes are closed in the face.
