Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for managing a channel in a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) system is provided to prevent channel blocking phenomenon by network fail. CONSTITUTION: If a setup request message is received from an end user(200), a gateway requests a ping test to an object IP address on a network of a current assignment channel(202). The gateway judges whether a response is received within one second from a destination corresponding to the object IP address(204). If the response is not received, the gateway reattempts the ping test request on the network(206). The gateway judges whether the response is received within two seconds from the destination corresponding to the object IP address(208). If the response is not received, the gateway reattempts the ping test request on the network(210). The gateway judges whether the response is received within three seconds from the destination corresponding to the object IP address(212). If the response is not received, the gateway releases the corresponding channel(214) and transmits a message so that a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) releases the corresponding channel.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A motion compensating method of object-based quad-tree mesh using greedy algorithm is provided so that a complicated and local moving picture can be compensated exactly by using Greedy algorithm. CONSTITUTION: First, at the beginning process, root blocks are formed(400) and then the respective blocks are divided as a quad tree(410). When the respective blocks are compensated, an amount of reduction of moving compensation errors, moving vectors, and the rate of increasement of quad tree coding bits on the basis of the quad tree dividing transfer(420). In the current quad tree dividing state, the block having the most dividing gain is divided again by the quad tree process(430). Dividing gain is obtained again by blocks influenced by the above blocks(440). Thereafter, it is discriminated whether the current rate is less than the object rate(450).
