    Abstract: PURPOSE: An intelligent program filtering system in a digital television(TV) broadcasting is provided to filter scenes coincided with a viewer's requirement and recommend them in real time on the basis of program contents, that is, program scenes. CONSTITUTION: A digital TV broadcasting receiving unit(10) receives a digital terrestrial wave and a satellite TV broadcasting. A storing unit(20) comprises a contents storing unit(21) for storing screens by viewers desired when storing a broadcasting program previously or performing a filtering function, a viewer's preference storing unit(22) and a scene characteristic storing unit(23) for storing audio and visual characteristics of programs. A real time operating unit(30) connects hardware appliances with an intelligent agent unit(40). The intelligent agent unit(40) performs a filtering function instead of a viewer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A displaying method is provided to sample texture characteristics by converting a video signal into a polar coordinate system space. CONSTITUTION: In a method for displaying the texture data of an image, a frequency space is divided into at least two and more frequency areas to sample each characteristic value of at least one and more texture characteristics. Various texture characteristic values of the image are sampled from each divided frequency area. Finally, a texture descriptor of the image is displayed as a characteristic vector based on the characteristic values sampled from the frequency areas.
