Abstract:
Polymeric layers (50) comprising an array of openings (56) extending between the first and second major surfaces (52, 54), wherein the openings (60) each have a series of areas through the openings from the first and second major surfaces ranging from minimum to maximum areas. There is a total area and a total open area for each of the first and second major surfaces, wherein the total open area for each of the first and second major surfaces is not greater than 50 percent of the total area of the respective major surface. For at least a majority of the openings (56), the minimum area is not at either major surface. Methods for making the polymeric layers are also disclosed. Polymeric layers are useful, for example, as components in personal care garments such as diapers and feminine hygiene products and medical skin applications where breathability is desired. They can also be useful for filtering (including liquid filtering) and acoustic applications.

Polymeric layer having first and second, generally opposed major surfaces, comprising an array of openings extending between the first and second major surfaces. The polymeric layers are useful, for example, as components in personal care garments such as diapers and feminine hygiene products. They can also be useful for filtering (including liquid filtering) and acoustic applications.
Abstract:
Method and extrusion die (1030) for producing a three-dimensional polymeric strand netting, wherein a plurality of the polymeric strands (1070a, 1070b, 1070c) are periodically joined together in a regular pattern at bond regions throughout the array, wherein a majority of the polymeric strands (1070a, 1070b, 1070c) are periodically bonded to at least two (three, four, five, six, or more) adjacent polymeric strands, and wherein no polymeric strands are continuously bonded to a polymeric strand. Three-dimensional polymeric strand netting described herein have a variety of uses, including wound care, tapes, filtration, absorbent articles, pest control articles, geotextile applications, water/vapor management in clothing, reinforcement for nonwoven articles, self bulking articles, floor coverings, grip supports, athletic articles, and pattern coated adhesives.
Abstract:
A respirator includes a mask body. The respirator further includes a harness including one or more elastic straps. Each of the one or more elastic straps is joined to the mask body on opposing sides thereof. Each of the one or more elastic straps includes at least one first color scheme and at least one second color scheme. The at least one first color scheme is visibly different from the at least one second color scheme. Each of the one or more elastic straps includes at least about 0.5% to about 99.9% of an elastomeric polyolefin by weight.
Abstract:
Coextended polymeric article comprising a layer comprising first and second opposed major surfaces, wherein a plurality of attached projection pairs comprising first and second projections extend from only the first major surface (i.e., the second major surface is free of any projections), wherein each first projection has at least first and second opposed sides and a height from the first major surface to a distal end, wherein each first projection has at least first and second opposed sides and a height from the first major surface to a distal end. Uses for coextruded polymeric articles described herein include adhesive articles and household cleaning products (e.g., a mop, a duster, a brush, a cleaning cloth, or a lint roller).
Abstract:
Articles comprising first and second coextruded polymeric nettings are described. The articles comprise a plurality of pairs of first segments comprising a first material. Adjacent first segments are joined together via a second segments comprising second material, wherein the second segments extend past the first major surface of each first adjacent segments. The articles further include an adhesive on at least one of the first or second major surfaces of the first segment. The first segments, second segments, and third material each extend continuously for at least 5 mm in the machine direction, and the first and second materials of adjacent pairs are periodically bonded together in the machine direction. A portion of some of the first segments of the first coextruded polymeric netting are engaged between some of the adjacent first segments of the second coextruded polymeric netting.
Abstract:
Coextruded articles comprising first and second layers each having first and second opposed major surfaces and between the first and second layers a series of first walls providing a series of microchannels, and methods for making the same. Embodiment of coextruded articles described herein are useful, for example, in cushioning applications where high levels of compression are desired.

Abstract:
A system including a polymeric sheet. The polymeric sheet comprises a base sheet having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and a multiplicity of spaced rails projecting from the first surface of the base sheet. The rails comprise a stem portion attached to and substantially upright from the first surface of the base sheet and a top portion on the distal end of the stem opposite the base sheet. The top portion comprises a first surface opposite the base sheet and a second surface facing the first surface of the base sheet. Additionally, the rails have a length greater than the width of the stems. The first surface of the base sheet, the second surface of the top portion and the surface of the stem defines a cavity with walls, and an adhesive coated on at least a portion of the cavity wall.
