The plurality of mounting steps is formed by at least removing a preselected amount of housing material at predetermined locations on the interior surface. At least some of the mounting steps are used to mount at least some of the plurality of internal operating components to the housing.

Abstract: Electronic device 1100, e.g. a tablet computer, has a display overlaid by an outer protective layer 1106 and a magnetic element. A cover 1300 for the device has a single piece flap comprising a first magnetic element 1326 in a first portion 1304 and a magnetic element 1324 in a second portion 1310 opposite to the first portion. The second portion is also pivotably attachable to the tablet. The magnetic element in the tablet and first magnetic element in the cover form a magnetic circuit through the outside protective layer 1106 to attach the flap to the outer layer. The cover forms a structure for supporting the tablet in an operational orientation when the flap is folded such that the first magnet 1326 and the magnetic element 1324 form a magnetic circuit. Magnetic sensor 118 detects when the flap is in contact to the layer and present visual content accordingly.

The flexible member can include traces used to convey power and/or data and an interface coupled to the power and/or data traces. The flexible member can be deflected or twisted to connect first circuitry on the body portion of the multi-plane rigid circuit board to second circuitry associated with another device component.

Abstract: A system and methods to extending the overall display area for a device. At or near the borders of a device, pixel pitch between adjacent pixels may be increased such that overall pixel placement may be provided closer to a border of a display of a device. In one embodiment, pixel drive circuitry may be located in the spacing between adjacent pixels. Additionally, various optical systems and techniques may be utilized to provide an appearance of a lack of a border around the display such as decreasing the size of border pixels, overdriving the border pixels, or utilizing a light pipe on a surface above the border pixels.
