Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the continuous production of polybutyleneterephthalate from terephthalic acid and 1,4-butanediol, comprising the following: d) the direct esterification of terephthalic acid with 1,4-butanediol in a reactor series consisting of at least two reactors; e) the precondensation of the product of esterification obtained in step a); f) the polycondensation of the precondensate obtained in step b). The reacto r series in step a) is operated with a falling reaction pressure and a non- rising temperature.

Abstract: A flame retardant, melt stable carbon monoxide copolymer (I) contains a magnesium-calcium carbonate and a basic magnesium carbonate. A flame retardant, melt stable carbon monoxide copolymer (I) comprises: (A) a copolymer of carbon monoxide and alpha -olefinically unsaturated compounds (B) mineral compounds consisting of (B1) a magnesium-calcium carbonate of formula (1) and (B2) a basic magnesium carbonate of formula (2) in a ratio of 10:1-1:10 and optionally (C) an antioxidant (D) an elastomeric polymer or (E) an additive. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of (I) by mixing (A) and (B) and optionally (C)-(E) at 180-250 deg C to form a homogeneous molding composition.
