Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer in which a degree of freedom for a position where a maintenance member for recovery discharge and wiping is set is increased, a section in the limited interior of the printer can be effectively utilized and which is considerably advantageous to miniaturization. SOLUTION: A head unit 21 is supported via a shaft 21-4 to a carriage 22. The head unit is opposed to a paper not illustrated when in a record posture directed downward, and prints by reciprocating in a direction shown by an arrow H. After the printing, when the head unit moves in a return direction indicated by an arrow J to be outside a printing area, an engagement thread for rotation which is formed to the head unit 21 engages with an engagement projection 26-2 for rotation which is formed to a carriage guide rail 26-1 of a frame part 26, thereby rotating the head unit 21 by 90 deg.. While maintaining a sideways maintenance posture, the head unit engages with a maintenance mechanism part not shown in the figure, thereby carrying out a maintenance work such as cleaning a nozzle face, sealing, replenishing ink, trial discharge from a nozzle or the like.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downsized image forming device capable of preventing an image forming face from being contaminated by coming-off, from a device, of a printed-out paper sheet. SOLUTION: A paper sheet 44 inserted from a paper supplying port 43 is conveyed intermittently by paired conveying rollers 7. A printing head 26 conducts printing from a printing starting position of the sheet 44 positioned by detection by a tip sensing sensor 8, while reciprocating. When the printing of a printing data for one sheet is finished, rotation of the paired rollers 7 is stopped in such a condition that the rollers 7 nips a rear blank space end of the sheet 44. The paper sheet 44 with a tip part exposed from a paper discharge port 27 is not comming off easily from a device main body 1. Even when a front blank space part 44-1 of the sheet 44 is held by fingers to be extracted, the sheet 44 is extracted through a central part 28 without bringing an image forming face 45-1 of a central part of the sheet 44 into sliding contact with a central part 28 of a high opening (without scratching an imaging face), while only a blank space part 44-2 in both sides of the sheet 44 contact slidingly with both side parts 29 of the discharge port 27 of a low opening.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To directly correctly detect the color of an ink ribbon by providing a second sensor disposed along the conveying direction of an ink sheet at the different position from a first sensor and having an infrared light generation source and a photoreceiver, and means for identifying colorants. In the case of a multicolor printing, the sheet 26 printed on one surface is reconveyed reversely, and then the previously printed surface is again lap coated with ink of the other color. At this time, to detect the position of the ink of the ribbon 24, ribbon detecting sensors 28a, 28b are so disposed at the position 27 separated by a distance (b) from the printer 22 forward of a print head 21, i.e., as seen from the conveying direction of the ribbon 24 indicated by an arrow H as to sandwich the ribbon 24 between the front and rear surfaces.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive and small-sized electrostatic recording device having a small number of parts. CONSTITUTION:An ordinary paper P is loaded and stored in a paper feeding cassette 1, and the cassette is rotated upwards in synchronism with a printing timing so as to make the leading end of the paper P lying uppermost abut on the circumferential surface of a multifunctional roll 10. The multifunctional roll 10 is rotated clockwise so as to feed out the paper from the paper feeding cassette 1', and the paper is loosened by a friction pad 11, and then, only one sheet lying on the uppermost part is delivered to the downstream side so as to be fed to an image transfer part T. An image carrying roll 5 for carrying the toner image recorded and developed in a recording and developing unit U is rotated counterclockwise, and then, the paper P is held at the image transfer part T which is formed by press-contacting the roll 5 to the multifunctional roll 10, and then, the toner image is transferred to the paper P as the paper P is carried to the downstream. A fixing roll 8' is arranged on the downstream side of the image transfer part T, and provided with a heat source inside, and the paper P carried from the image transfer part T is held by the fixing roll 8' which is in press-contact with the multifunctional roll 10, and the paper P is ejected upward by the roll 8' while the transferred toner image is thermally fixed on the paper P.
