    Abstract: A glass article is provided that includes: a glass substrate comprising a thickness and a primary surface; and a textured region defined by the primary surface. The textured region comprises a low spatial frequency region and a high spatial frequency region substantially superimposed within the low spatial frequency region. Further, the low spatial frequency region comprises an average lateral feature size that exceeds an average lateral feature size of the high spatial frequency region. In addition, the textured region comprises a surface roughness (Ra) from about 10 nm to about 1000 nm.

    Abstract: A patterned glass article that includes: a glass substrate comprising a thickness, a primary surface and a bulk composition at the midpoint of the thickness; and a patterned region defined by the primary surface and comprising a patterned region composition. The bulk composition comprises about 40 mol % to 80 mol % silica and the patterned region composition comprises at least about 40 mol % silica. Further, the patterned region comprises a first textured region and a second textured region, the second textured region characterized by a haze of at least 5% more than a haze of the first textured region.

    Abstract: Described herein are various systems and methods for using acidic media to enhance the surface characteristics of glass articles while reducing the adverse effects of precipitate/sludge formation. The systems and methods generally implement a precipitation-capturing device that is configured to 1) permit formation of sludge thereon and 2) reduce formation of the sludge on other solid surfaces involved in the systems and methods.
