Abstract: Method for forming and adhering an entrained polymer structure to a substrate (114), applying the polymer in molten form to form a solidified polymer structure on the substrate. The surface of the substrate is compatible with the molten entrained polymer so as to thermally bond with it. Used is a hot melt dispensing apparatus comprising: an extruder (102) for providing a flow of the polymer in molten form; one or more hoses (104), each of which having an internal lumen (108) in fluid communication with an exit (106) of the extruder to receive the flow of the polymer in molten form, the lumen terminating at an applicator (110) to which the polymer in molten form is conveyed; the applicator comprising a dispenser (112) for repeatedly applying the polymer to the substrate.

Abstract: Un método para almacenar y preservar productos sensibles a la humedad incluye proveer un envase hermético para la humedad que tiene un inserto hecho de un polímero arrastrado desecante que tiene menos de 3,25 g de masa, disponer una pluralidad de productos sensibles a la humedad en el compartimento interior cuando el envase está en la posición abierta y mover el envase a la poción cerrada, creando de ese modo un sello hermético para la humedad entre la tapa y el cuerpo del envase. El envase provee una vida útil a los productos sensibles a la humedad de por lo menos 12 meses. El envase, cuando esta en la posición cerrada, tiene un índice de transmisión de vapor de humedad, en condiciones ambiente de 30ºC y 75% de humedad relativa (HR), menor de 500 mg/día.

Abstract: Disclosed are an entrained polymer or an entrained polymer composition, and a method for forming and adhering an entrained polymer structure to a substrate using the entrained polymer or an entrained polymer composition. The method includes providing a substrate configured to receive application of a molten entrained polymer. A particulate entrained polymer in molten form is applied in a predetermined shape, to a surface of the substrate, to form a solidified entrained polymer structure on the substrate. The entrained polymer includes a monolithic material formed of at least a base polymer and a particulate active agent. The surface of the substrate is compatible with the molten entrained polymer so as to thermally bond with it. In this way, the entrained polymer bonds to the substrate and solidifies upon sufficient cooling of the entrained polymer.
