Abstract: A mobile telephone is provided with a pivotable flap (2) hinged to the telephone housing part (1) and having a notch (2') to engage the hook (3') of a lever (3), which may be pivoted around an axis (4). A button (6) contacting the lever actuation arm (3'') can only be depressed and a switch (7), preferably a tactile dome, is arranged on a printer circuit board (PCB) (5) under the actuation arm to activate or deactivate an answering circuit. The switch is sprung upwards to act as a reset means of the lever and button when the button is released. During closing of the flap, the lever is momentarily turned clockwise, to activate the switch and deactivate the answering circuit.
