PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment composition improving pigment dispersibility and dispersion stability; an ink composition using it; printed matter; and a method for inkjet recording; as well as a polyallylamine derivative useful for them. SOLUTION: A pigment composition includes (A) a polyallylamine derivative composed of 1 to 50 mol% of a structural unit represented by the general formula (1-a), 49 to 95 mol% of a structural unit represented by the general formula (1-b), and 1 to 30 mol% of a structural unit represented by the general formula (1-c); and (B) a pigment.
