PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition which combines the excellent storage stability, the excellent curing rate by the irradiation with an active radiation, the high quality of the image after cure, the excellent flexibility and scratch resistance, the high adhesion to a medium to be recorded and the stable inkjet dischargeabilty; and a method for inkjet recording using this ink composition. SOLUTION: The ink composition contains (A) a radically polymerizable compound, (B) a radical polymerization initiator and (C) a coloring agent, wherein (A) the radically polymerizable compound contains at least one kind of a compound expressed by formula (Ia) and/or a compound expressed by formula (Ib) and at least one kind of a compound expressed by formula (II); and there is the method for inkjet recording using this ink composition. SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises a pigment (A), a photopolymerization initiator (B), a polymerizable compound (C) and a siloxane type pigment dispersant (D), wherein the siloxane type pigment dispersant (D) is a polyorganosiloxane which has an acid group or a group containing nitrogen atom or sulfur atom having a non-covalent electron pair as an adsorptive group. The inkjet recording method includes a step (a 1 ) of ejecting the ink composition onto a recording medium and a step (b 1 ) of applying active radiation rays to the ejected ink composition to cure the ink composition.
