Abstract:
Examples may include a basic input/output system (BIOS) for a computing platform communicating with a controller for a non-volatile dual in-line memory module (NVDIMM). Communication between the BIOS and the controller may include a request for the controller to scan and identify error locations in non-volatile memory at the NVDIMM. The non-volatile memory may be capable of providing persistent memory for the NVDIMM.
Abstract:
A processor includes a logic to determine an error condition reported in an error bank. The error bank is communicatively coupled to the processor and is associated with logical processors of the processor. The processor includes another logic to generate an interrupt indicating the error condition. The processor includes yet another logic to selectively send the interrupt to a single one of the logical processors associated with the error bank.
Abstract:
Provided are a method, system, computer readable storage medium, and switch for configuring a switch to assign partitions in storage devices to compute nodes. A management controller configures the switch to dynamically allocate partitions of at least one of the storage devices to the compute nodes based on a workload at the compute node.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses relating to a hardware memory test unit to check a section of a data storage device for a transient fault before the data is stored in and/or loaded from the section of the data storage device are described. In one embodiment, an integrated circuit includes a hardware processor to operate on data in a section of a data storage device, and a memory test unit to check the section of the data storage device for a transient fault before the data is stored in the section of the data storage device, wherein the transient fault is to cause a machine check exception if accessed by the hardware processor.
Abstract:
An apparatus for coherent shared memory across multiple clusters is described herein. The apparatus includes a fabric memory controller and one or more nodes. The fabric memory controller manages access to a shared memory region of each node such that each shared memory region is accessible using load store semantics, even in response to failure of the node. The apparatus also includes a global memory, wherein each shared memory region is mapped to the global memory by the fabric memory controller.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention includes a processor that has an on-die storage such as a static random access memory to store an architectural state of one or more threads that are swapped out of architectural state storage of the processor on entry to a system management mode (SMM). In this way communication of this state information to a system management memory can be avoided, reducing latency associated with entry into SMM. Embodiments may also enable the processor to update a status of executing agents that are either in a long instruction flow or in a system management interrupt (SMI) blocked state, in order to provide an indication to agents inside the SMM. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus related to Rack Scale Architecture (RSA) and/or Shared Memory Controller (SMC) techniques of fast zeroing are described. In one embodiment, a storage device stores meta data corresponding to a portion of a non-volatile memory. Logic, coupled to the non-volatile memory, causes an update to the stored meta data in response to a request for initialization of the portion of the non-volatile memory. The logic causes initialization of the portion of the non-volatile memory prior to a reboot or power cycle of the non-volatile memory. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
Abstract:
Power protecting a memory subsystem with a centralized storage device. A centralized backup energy source provides power temporarily when power supply power is interrupted. In response to detecting interruption of power supply power, a controller selectively connects multiple selected memory devices to a centralized SATA (serial advanced technology attachment) storage device to transfer contents of the selected memory devices to the storage device while powered by the backup energy source.
