    Abstract: In order to determine the position of a rail-guided elevator car, the positi on transmitter device has a code support (9), which is mounted in a fixed manne r on the guide rail (7) over the guideway and which is provided with code mark s each having a different permeability. A constantly exact reading of the codi ng is ensured by virtue of the fact that the code support (9) is joined to a no n- magnetic covering (15) in a fixed manner, whereby the code marks are covered toward the exterior by the non-magnetic covering (15). In an advantageous design, the code support (9) is inserted with the outwardly pointing nonmagnetic covering (15) into an accommodating slot (16) of the elevator ca r guide rail (7), whereby achieving a simple and reliable fitting and, in addition, preventing temperature-dependent expansion differences between the code support and the guide rail.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a fitting tool (1) that can be displaced along a guide rail (2). The fitting tool (1) is comprised of a guide shoe (7) with a handle (8) and of a strip station (9) for applying a code strip (10) to the guide limb (4) of the guide rail (2). A strip entry (12), a strip roll (13), and an arm (14) with a pressure shoe (15) are all mounted on a station suppo rt (11) of the strip station (9). A connecting pin (16) with adjusting screws (17) connects the station support (11) to the guide shoe (7). A holder (21) is mounted on a bracket (18) that is detachably connected to the guide shoe (7) . A container with adhesive for the code strip (10) can be mounted on the holder. The fitter who is standing on the elevator car roof holds the end of the code strip (10) tightly with his hand and moves the fitting tool (1) downward until the code strip (10) adheres to the adhesive applied to the guide limb (4). The fitting tool (1) is then moved further downward in a steady manner with both hands, and the elevator car is moved downward until it has passed through the entire elevator shaft.

    Abstract: In this system for generating hoistway information, images of the surface of a guiderail (1) are recorded by means of a CCD line camera (3), and from the surface patterns which can be read from the images, the absolute position of the elevator car is determined. The image data are input into a first correlator (I) which uses an incremental position of a new image and an absolute position (i) of a preceding image to generate an estimated position which is input into a second correlator (II). The estimated position is used to locate the relevant database sector in which the image which was stored in the database during calibration is situated. The second correlator (II) compares the new image with the stored image and determines from the position index of the stored image the absolute position (i+1) which is transmitted to the elevator control.
