Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film-forming polymer improved in an ability to set the hair under high humidity and its persistence by copolymerizing a specified vinylpyrrolidone with a silicone macromer. CONSTITUTION:20-99wt.% vinylpyrrolidone of formula I (wherein R is H or 1-20 C alkyl) is copolymerized with 1-80wt.% silicone macromer of formula II [wherein X is a radical-polymerizable group; R to R are each methyl, alkoxy, (substituted) phenyl or (substituted) phenoxy; m is 1-0; and n is 50-150] at 30-100 deg.C for 1-10hr in the presence of 0.001-2.0mol%, based on the monomer mixture, radical polymerization initiator (e.g. 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile) to obtain a silicone/vinylpyrrolidone copolymer. 0.01-15wt.% this copolymer is mixed with 5099.8wt.% solvent such as a lower alcohol, a polyol or water and 0.1-20wt.% oil such as a hydrocarbon or an ester oil to obtain a hair care product.

CONSTITUTION:(A) 0.01-20wt.% copolymer prepared by copolymerizing 30-80 compound shown by formula I (R is H or methyl; R and R are H, 4-12C alkyl, etc.) with 5-45wt.% compound shown by formula II (R is 1-4C alkyl), 2-30wt.% compound shown by formula III (R is 2-3C alkylene; R and R are methyl or ethyl; a is 0 or 1) and 0-30wt.% compound shown by formula TV (R and R are 2-6C alkylene; R is H or methyl; a is 0 or 1) and (B) 0.01-10wt.% silicone derivative are dissolved in a solvent such as water or lower alcohol and optionally mixed with a propellant and packed into a pressure container to prepare the objective substance.
