    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and operable to capture multiple frames of image data during a driving maneuver of the vehicle. A control includes an image processor that processes frames of captured image data to determine feature points in an image frame when the vehicle is operated within a first range of steering angles, and to determine motion trajectories of those feature points in subsequent image frames for the respective range of steering angles. The control determines a horizon line based on the determined motion trajectories. Responsive to determination that the determined horizon line is non-parallel to the horizontal axis of the image plane, at least one of pitch, roll or yaw of the camera is adjusted. Image data captured by the camera is processed at the control for object detection.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle. Responsive to image processing at an ECU of captured frames of image data, the vehicular vision system detects an object present in a field of view of the camera. As the vehicle moves relative to the detected object, captured frames of image data are processed to determine a point of interest, present in multiple captured frames of image data, on the detected object. The vehicular vision system, via processing of captured frames of image data as the vehicle moves relative to the detected object, and based on the determined point of interest present in multiple captured frames of image data, estimates a location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest and determines distance to the determined point of interest on the detected object.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle. The control, responsive at least in part to image processing by an image processor of multiple frames of captured image data, detects an object present exterior of the equipped vehicle that is moving relative to the equipped vehicle. The control receives vehicle motion data indicative of motion of the vehicle when the vehicle is moving. The control, responsive at least in part to the received vehicle motion data, and via image processing of multiple frames of captured image data, determines motion of the detected object relative to the moving vehicle by (i) determining corresponding object points in at least two frames of captured image data and (ii) estimating object motion trajectory of the detected object based at least in part on the determined corresponding object points.

    Abstract: A method for calibrating a vehicular camera includes providing at least a front or rear camera and a side camera with overlapping fields of view, and calibrating the front or rear camera, capturing a calibrated frame of image data with the front or rear camera, and capturing a sideward frame of image data with a side camera. At least one feature is determined present in the overlapping region of the calibrated frame, and pixel positions of the determined feature are predicted for the side camera. Misalignment of the side camera is determined based on a comparison of the predicted pixel positions of the determined feature to the pixel positions of the determined feature in the sideward frame of image data captured by the side camera. Processing of image data captured by the side camera is adjusted to accommodate the determined misalignment.

    Abstract: A vehicular sensing system includes a plurality of sensors disposed at a vehicle so as to have a combined field of sensing forward, rearward and sideward of the vehicle. Data captured by the sensors is processed at a control to detect objects present in a respective field of sensing. A control designates a plurality of locations within the fields of sensing. As the vehicle moves along the road, the control increases a value for each designated location when an object is detected at that designated location and decreases the value for each designated location when an object is not detected at that designated location. The control, as the vehicle moves along the road, generates an object map based on values for the designated locations. The greater the value for a particular designated location, the greater the probability an object is present at that particular designated location.

    Abstract: A vision system of a vehicle includes at least one camera configured to be disposed at a vehicle so as to have a field of view exterior of the vehicle. Responsive to image processing of captured image data and with the at least one camera disposed at the vehicle, the image processor determines a three dimensional object present in the field of view of the camera and determines a point of interest on the determined object. The vision system uses triangulation to determine an estimated location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest. The vision system processes additional frames of captured image data to enhance the estimation of the location in three dimensional space of the determined point of interest. The image processor is operable to estimate a distance to the determined object by comparing multiple frames of captured image data.

    Abstract: A trailer angle detection system for a vehicle towing a trailer includes a rearward viewing camera disposed at a rear portion of a vehicle, and an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. Responsive to processing of captured image data when the vehicle is towing a trailer, the trailer angle detection system determines the presence of the trailer at the rear of the vehicle and attached at the vehicle and determines feature vectors of the detected trailer over multiple frames of captured image data. Responsive to movement of the trailer relative to the vehicle, the trailer angle detection system tracks feature vectors for different positions of the detected trailer. The trailer angle detection system determines an angle of the trailer responsive to detection of tracking of feature vectors the trailer in the field of view of the camera over multiple frames of captured image data.

    Abstract: A trailer assist system for a vehicle includes a plurality of sensors disposed at a vehicle, a trailer sensor disposed at a rear portion of a trailer and having a field of sensing at least rearward of the trailer, and a control having a processor operable to process data captured by the sensors. A display screen displays an area rearward of the trailer. Responsive to a user input selecting a target area present in the displayed image, the control, via processing of data captured by the sensors, is operable to determine a path of travel for the vehicle and trailer to follow to maneuver the vehicle and trailer toward a target location represented by the selected displayed target area. The control, responsive to determination of the path of travel, controls at least steering of the vehicle to maneuver the vehicle and trailer along the determined path of travel.
