Abstract:
Processes for treating iron containing waste streams are provided. According to these processes, metal-containing compounds, particularly iron oxides are produced. These methods may, for example, be used in the processing of the waste streams from the chlorination of titanium-bearing raw materials and involve the use of certain combinations of neutralization and precipitation steps.

A coin cup holder mounted to the wall of a toilet stall located in a casino restroom includes a frame which has mounted on it a coin cup receptacle and a pair of hooks. The hooks include a coat hook and a swivel hook for supporting a purse. The coin cup holder may be mounted to a side wall, shared by adjacent stalls, via a bolt which goes through the wall and attaches to another holder mounted in the adjacent stall. The coin cup holder may also be mounted to a stall door.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of affinity purifying antibodies consisting of the following steps: A) homogenizing Helminth parasite worms forming a mixture; B) incubating the mixture of adult Helminth parasite worm homogenate with pre-swelled CNBr-activated Sepharose 4B in coupling buffer; C) first washing the mixture with blocking buffer; D) second washing the mixture with acetate buffer and coupling buffer; E) third washing the mixture with Phosphate Buffered Solution; F) pouring the mixture into a chromatography column; G) allowing the mixture to settle; H) first passing, by gravity, a solution of saturated ammonium sulfate precipitated antibodies in loading buffer through the chromatography column; I) second passing, by gravity, loading buffer through the chromatography column until thoroughly washed; and J) second passing, by gravity, chromatography column elution buffer through the chromatography column which functions to remove and the purified antibodies.
Abstract:
A washer is described for cleaning the interiors of tanks that hold milk, beer, chemicals and so on. A body 2 reciprocates relative to a substantially surrounded and relatively fixed piston 19. The body 2 oscillatably supports three nozzles 7 each of which is movable through an arc of 60.degree. and which arc is angularly spaced from those corresponding to the other two nozzles 7 by further angles of 60.degree.. However, the body 2 and nozzles 7 are also indexed, during operation, in steps, around a further axis which is perpendicular to, and offset from the axis of oscillation and which substantially corresponds to the longitudinal axis of the tank washer itself. Thus, each nozzle 7 cleans not only an arc of 60.degree. but rotates that arc through 360.degree. so that the whole of the interior of a tank is both washed and substantially rinsed by the three nozzles 7.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to an entrained-downflow chlorination process of fine metalliferous ores particularly containing alkali and/or alkaline earth metals greater than about 0.3% by weight as the oxide. The process includes a quenching step following the chlorination step where the chlorinated products are quenched by liquid cooling fluid spray patterns adapted to prevent solidification of the alkali and/or alkaline earth materials onto the reactor walls. The chlorinator unit of this invention prevents disruption of the chlorination process due to presence of liquids or sticky particles and it contains a quenching spray means disposed below the chlorination zone in the entrained-downflow chlorinator unit, whereby the quenching sprays prevent reactor wall buildup.
Abstract:
An apparatus for cleaning tanks which is inserted into an opening at the top of the tank to be cleaned. The apparatus has an elongated cylindrical housing with an upper fluid inlet portion and a lower portion having a cylindrical rotary member coupled for rotation to the housing. The apparatus includes an air motor in the upper portion. In the lower portion, the main component is a high pressure block with an elongated axial aperture and a plurality of feed tubes disposed parallel to the axial aperture are held by the block. There is a central rotating vertical main tube in the central aperture which carries high pressure liquid. At the end of the high pressure block is a bevel housing gear and a nozzle tube is coupled at right angles to the central vertical tube. This nozzle tube has vertically disposed spray nozzles at one end and a bevel gear at the other end which is engaged with the bevel housing gear. In the central part of the cylindrical housing are gear and pinion shafts parallel to the central axis including one shaft axially aligned in coincidence with the central vertical axis. The air motor has a drive pinion on its output shaft which drives a gear train held on the gear and pinion shafts. The air motor drives the gear train which turns the central rotating vertical main tube and also turns the nozzle tube coupled to it. As the nozzle tube turns, the tube bevel gear engaged with the housing bevel gear is caused to turn which turns the nozzle tube. As the nozzle tube turns it turns the nozzles at the outer end of the nozzle tube.
Abstract:
The cotton variety ST 4145LLB2 is disclosed. The invention relates to seeds, plants, plant cells, plant tissue, harvested products and cotton lint as well as to hybrid cotton plants and seeds obtained by repeatedly crossing plants of variety ST 4145LLB2 with other plants. The invention also relates to plants and varieties produced by the method of essential derivation from plants of ST 4145LLB2 and to plants of ST 4145LLB2 reproduced by vegetative methods, including but not limited to tissue culture of regenerable cells or tissue from ST 4145LLB2.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for providing access to content via messaging services, such as email, voicemail, instant messaging, text messaging, or other similar messaging services. A content server is provided that includes a user interface, a web server and a file. The web server includes a web page for accessing the file. A user provides user information associated with a messaging address via the user interface, and the content server then sends a message including the web address of the web page to the messaging address. The user may then retrieve the message at a client computer, and may then download the file to the client computer by entering the web address into a web browser on the client computer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compounds, compositions, and methods for the study, diagnosis, and treatment of traits, diseases and conditions that respond to the modulation of HBV gene expression and/or activity, and/or modulate a HBV gene expression pathway. Specifically, the invention relates to double-stranded nucleic acid molecules including small nucleic acid molecules, such as short interfering nucleic acid (siNA), short interfering RNA (siRNA), double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), micro-RNA (miRNA), and short hairpin RNA (shRNA) molecules that are capable of mediating or that mediate RNA interference (RNAi) against HBV gene expression.
