    Abstract: A cosmetic composition for the hair comprises in combination at least one crosslinked polyamino-amide and at least one cationic polymer having recurring units of the formula wherein R3 and R4 each independently represent alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, R1 and R2 each independently represent alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms or hydroxy alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, or when R2=R4=CH3 and R1=R3, R1 and R3 can represent alkyl having 4-8 carbon atoms, or when R2=R4=R1=CH3, R3 can represent benzyl, cyclohexyl or alkyl having 4-12 carbon atoms, X(-) is an anion, A and B each independently represent linear or branched alkylene having 2-20 carbon atoms in the chain, or A represents -(CH2)n-Z-(CH2)n-, -CH2-C6H4-CH2- or -CH2-CH(OH)-CH2-, n being 2 or 3 and Z representing -O- or -NH-CO-NH-.

    Abstract: A soln. for colouring hair contains one or more dyes of formula (I). In the formula (I) A is OH R7 R8 are H and R5 R6 are H, or one is Cl or CH3 and the other is H. or A is NR9R1 and R9 is H, methyl, ethyl, or hydroxy ethyl; R10 is as R9 also -CH2 CONH2, (CH2)i NH and SO2-ch3. with R7 R8 as above with specified gps. for each specified R9 R10 combination; or (ii) A is NH2 and R5-8 are CH3, OCH3, H, CH3 or H, CH3, H, CH3, H, CH3 respectively, R1-4 are CH3, H (NH2, NHCOCH3 or NHCONH2), and (H or CH3, CH3, H, He respectively or OCH3, H, NHCO-CH3, H respectively. (iii) A is NhCH3, R6 is H and R5-8 are Hf or A is N (Et) (CH2CONH2) and R5-8 is H, or A is N(Et) (CH2)2 NH) or N (Et) (SOiCHoe and R5-8 are H; R1-4 are CH3, H, (CH3, H, NH2, NH2, NHCOCH3, NHCONH2, or NHCOCH3) and (H, CH3, H, CH3, CH3, H, H) respectively; or (iv) A is N(CH2CH2CH)2, N(Et) (CH2CONH2), N(Et) ((CH2)2NH) or N(Et)(SC2CH3) and R5-8 are H; A is N(CH3)2 and R5 is CH3 or R6 is Cl and the rest H; or A is N(2H5) (CH2CONH2), N (Et) (CH2)2NH), N(Et)(SO2CH3) Rk is CH3 and R6-8 are H; R1-4 in this case are CH3, H, NHCOOC2H5 and H respectively. The solvent is t least one of ethanol, is opraponal tert-butanol, ethyleneglycol mono-ethyl, -methyl or butyl ethers. The solns. are used to form hair dyeing compsn. esp. at 0.001-5% by mixing with water to form an aq. soln. with a pH adjusted to 1-11 esp.

    Abstract: Process for dyeing keratinous fibers, which comprises applying to these fibers at least one composition (A) containing, in a suitable medium for dyeing, at least one indole derivative and at least one substituted 2-nitro-para-phenylenediamine selected from the group consisting of 1-N-( beta -hydroxyethyl)amino-2-nitro-4-N', N'-(bis- beta -hydroxyethyl)aminobenzene and 1-N-( beta -hydroxyethyl)amino-2-nitro-4-aminobenzene, the color being developed with the aid of an oxidizing system consisting of: (i) iodide ions and hydrogen peroxide, the composition (A) additionally containing in this case either (a) iodide ions or (b) hydrogen peroxide and the application of this composition (A) being preceded or followed by the application of a composition (B) which contains, in a medium suitable for dyeing, either: (a) hydrogen peroxide at a pH of between 2 and 12 and preferably between 2 and 7 when the composition (A) contains iodide ions, or: (b) iodide ions at a pH of between 3 and 11 when the composition (A) contains hydrogen peroxide; (ii) nitrites, the application of the composition (A) being followed, in this case, by the application of a composition (B) consisting of an aqueous composition exhibiting an acidic pH, the composition (A) or the composition (B) containing at least one nitrite; (iii) oxidizing agents selected from teh group consisting of periodic acid and periodates, sodium hypochlorite, potassium ferricyanide, silver oxide, Fenton's reagent, lead (IV) oxide caesium (V) sulphate, ammonium persulphate and ferric chloride, these oxidizing agents being present in the composition (A) or applied simultaneously or sequentially in a separate manner by means of a composition (B) containing them in a suitable medium for dyeing; or else (iv) a permanganate or a dichromate, these oxidizing agents being applied by means of an aqueous composition (B) at a pH of 2 to 10, before the application of the composition (A).
