Abstract: Un procedimiento de admisión de servicios de localización y posicionamiento, que comprende: recibir un mensaje de petición de posicionamiento, que contiene un mensaje de petición de posicionamiento de red, en una entidad de gestión de movilidad, MME, desde un servidor de localización, LS, por medio de una interfaz entre la MME y el LS, en el que el mensaje de petición de posicionamiento incluye un mensaje de petición de posicionamiento de red para su reenvío a un nodo B evolucionado, eNB, en el que el mensaje de petición de posicionamiento de red es para un primer protocolo y está encapsulado en el mensaje de petición de posicionamiento que es para un segundo protocolo, en el que el primer protocolo está encima del segundo protocolo, y en el que el segundo protocolo es un protocolo de aplicación de servicios de localización, LCS-AP; obtener, en la MME, desde el eNB, un mensaje de respuesta de posicionamiento de red que incluye información de localización para un equipo de usuario, UE, como respuesta al mensaje de petición de posicionamiento; y enviar un mensaje de respuesta de posicionamiento que contiene la información de localización desde la MME al LS por medio de la interfaz entre la MME y el LS, en el que el mensaje de respuesta de posicionamiento es para el segundo protocolo y en el que el mensaje de respuesta de posicionamiento de red para el primer protocolo está encapsulado dentro del mensaje de respuesta de posicionamiento.

Abstract: Techniques to support emergency circuit-mode calls are described. The techniques may be used for various 3GPP and 3GPP2 networks, various location architectures, and various types of User Equipment (UE). A UE establishes a circuit-mode call with a wireless network for emergency services. The UE interacts with a location server indicated by the wireless network. The UE performs user plane location with the location server during the circuit-mode call to obtain a position estimate for the UE. The UE communicates with a PSAP, which may be selected based on the position estimate, for the emergency circuit-mode call. The UE may perform positioning with the location server to obtain an updated position estimate for the UE, e.g., whenever requested by the PSAP.

Abstract: Techniques for efficiently performing network selection using information stored at a terminal are described herein. The terminal may store coverage information for previously detected wireless networks, cell information for previously detected cells in wireless networks, usage information for previously accessed wireless networks, availability information for previously detected wireless networks, almanac information for cells in wireless networks (e.g., information on cells available at different locations and information for acquiring the cells), and/or other information that may be useful for network selection. The terminal may select a wireless network to attempt acquisition based on the stored coverage information and its current location, the stored cell information and information for the current location (e.g., an identity of a cell detected at the current location), the stored usage information, the stored availability information, and/or the stored almanac information.

Abstract: 100951 Techniques for supporting eCalls are described. In an aspect, an eCall indicator may be used to indicate an eCall being established. In one design, a terminal may generate a message including an eCall indicator and may send the message to originate an eCall. The eCall indicator may indicate (i) whether or not a call is an eCall or (ii) whether an eCall is initiated automatically by the terminal or manually by a user. In another aspect, a terminal may avoid sending signaling for mobility management and connection management to wireless networks except for eCalls and designated calls. The terminal may avoid performing location updating, performing registration, responding to paging requests, etc. The terminal may exchange signaling with a wireless network for an eCall initiated by the terminal. After the eCall is initiated, the terminal may perform location updating with the wireless network and call establishment for the eCall.
