Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., new radio (NR) wireless communications systems), a base station may serve a large number of user equipment (UEs). The base station may allocate uplink control channel resources to the UEs. A UE may receive, from the base station, a first resource assignment for a first set of symbols. The UE may also receive, from the base station, a second resource assignment for a second set of symbols, where the first set of symbols and the second set of symbols include an overlapping set of symbols. The UE may modify first resources for the first resource assignment, second resources for the second resource assignment, or both. The UE may then transmit first information based on the first resource assignment.

In certain aspects a method includes identifying resources, within an uplink short burst (ULSB) region within a transmission time interval (TTI), for transmitting at least a portion of uplink control information (UCI), the UCI including at least one of one scheduling request (SR) bit and one or more acknowledgment (ACK) bits for acknowledging or negatively acknowledging downlink transmissions. In certain aspects, the method also includes transmitting the UCI using the identified resources.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for addressing tone misalignment between signals of a first radio access technology (RAT) and signals of a second RAT in a combined signal. In some wireless communications systems, the tones of uplink (UL) signals may be shifted up or down based on the configuration of the particular RAT. If UL signals of the first RAT are not shifted in frequency and UL signals of the second RAT are shifted in frequency, processing the combined signal may include additional processing to account for the mismatch.

In an aspect, a scheduled entity obtains a resource allocation for transmitting different types of uplink control information (UCI), wherein the resource allocation is based on a combination of the different types of UCI and transmits the different types of UCI based on the obtained resource allocation. Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus maybe a base station or a UE. In an aspect, the apparatus may determine locations for a number of DM-RS symbols to be transmitted in a scheduling unit of a channel configured in a slot/mini-slot, where a last DM-RS symbol maybe positioned one symbol prior to a last symbol carrying scheduled data. In another aspect, the apparatus may determine the locations for the DM-RS symbols based on a selection between a first set of predetermined DM-RS positions and a second set of predetermined DM-RS positions. In another aspect, the apparatus may determine the locations for the DM-RS symbols based on a set number of symbols, wherein the determined locations are spaced apart according to the set number of symbols. The apparatus may transmit the DM-RS symbols based on the determined locations.
