Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface for accessing electrical household appliances currently coupled with a home network. SOLUTION: A DTV (digital television) 102, a DVCR (digital vide cassette recorder) 110, a DVD (digital video disk) 108, a DSS (dicision support system)-NIU 104 and a security system 120 indicate the electrical household appliances currently coupled with the home network 100. The DTV (to be operated as a client) 102 of a browser base receives, decodes HTML files related to the electrical household appliances (to be operated as a server) and displays control and instruction information of each in a diagram on a visible display. Each electrical household appliance transmits a self-customized GUI (graphic user interface) to the DTV 102. The DTV 102 receives the HTML files from the electrical household appliances via the home network 100 using an HTTP protocol. Each HTML file includes control and instruction information to the electrical household appliances.
