    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stable red color luminescence with high brightness by including at least one of distyryl compounds as an organic luminescent material in an organic layer arranged between an anode and a cathode. SOLUTION: An organic layer having a luminescent region is arranged between an anode and a cathode. At least one of distyryl compounds represented by formula I or formula II is included as an organic luminescent material in the organic layer. In formula I, R1-R4 are the same or different group, and are an aryl group represented by formula III. In formula III, R11-R17 are the same or different group, and are a hydrogen atom, or at least one of them is a saturated or non-saturated alkoxy group, or alkyl group. In formula I, R5-R12 are the same or different group, and at least one of them is a cyano group, a nitro group, or a halogen atom. In formula II, R18-R25 are the same or different group, and at least one of them is a cyano group, a nitro group, or a halogen atom.

SOLUTION: An organic layer having a luminescent region is arranged between an anode and a cathode. A distyryl compound represented by formula I is included as an organic luminescent material in the organic layer. In formula I, at least one of R1, R2, R3, and R4 is an aryl group represented by formula II, and the remainder of them are a non-substituted phenyl group. In formula II, R9, R10, R11, R12, and R13 are the same or different group, and at least one of them is a saturated or non-saturated alkyl amino group. In formula I, R5, R6, R7, and R8 are the same or different group, and are a hydrogen atom, a cyano group, a nitro group, or a halogen atom. The distyryl compound is included in a hole transport layer, an electron transport layer, or a luminescent layer.

SOLUTION: An organic layer contains a distyryl compound represented by formula I. In the formula I, R , R , R , and R are the same or a different group, and an aryl group represented by formula II, R , R , R , and R are the same of a different group, and at least one of them is an amino group, a nitro group, or a halogen atom. R -R in formula II are the same or a different group, and at least one of them is a saturated or unsaturated alkoxy group, or an alkyl group. A compound represented by formula III, for example, of the distyryl compound can be used as a luminescent layer also acting as an electron transport layer, or an luminescent layer also acting as a hole transport layer, and can be constituted as a luminescent layer interposed between the electron transport layer and the hole transport layer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the hole filling performance and electron filling performance, save the power consumption, and prolong the lifetime by having a hole filling layer between a positive electrode and a hole transport layer, and having an electron injection layer between a negative electrode and an electron transport layer. SOLUTION: In an EL element, direct current voltage is applied between a positive electrode 2 and a positive electrode 4 so that hole, which is filled from the positive electrode 2 through a hole filling layer 11, arrives a light emitting layer 7 through a hole transport layer 6 and so that electron, which is injected from the negative electrode 4 through an electron injecting layer 12, arrives the light emitting layer 7 through an electron transport layer 8. As a result, in the light emitting layer 7, recombination of the electron/hole is generated so as to generate the singlet exciton, and the light emission having the predetermined wavelength is generated. In the case of a layer structure (b), in which the light emitting layer is omitted, the light emission having the predetermined wavelength is generated from an interface of the hole transport layer 6 and the electron transport layer 8. These light emission is observed from a substrate 1 side. In the case of a transmission type EL element expressed with a figure (a), light emission can be observed from a protecting layer 5, besides from the substrate 1 side.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for forming an organic material thin film and a manufacturing method for an organic electroluminescent element for forming a proper thin film, in compliance with each material by using plural kinds of materials producing different phenomena by heating. SOLUTION: For complying with the characteristics of an organic material, an opened opening part type vapor deposition boat 28, which is provided with an opening part 27 having an area equal to a material housing area or more and a vapor evaporating angle of 90 degrees of more and used for a melting-type material evaporated after melting due to heat, an opening part restricted type vapor deposition boat 30, which is provided with an opening part 32 smaller than the material housing area and used for a sublimation type material sublimated directly by heating, are arranged in the same vacuum vapor deposition device. In compliance with characteristics of a vapor deposition material, either of the vapor deposition beat 28 or 30 is selected for film formation. In this way, the melting-type material can be efficiently formed into a film desirably, while a vapor deposition speed is controlled, and the sublimation-type material can be formed into a film desirably, while the sublimation amount and its speed are controlled. In this way, the organic EL element, having proper display quality can be manufactured, while reducing fluctuation in its film thickness.
