PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a plurality of users to simultaneously view the same scene regardless of a viewing state.SOLUTION: A reproduction control part controls reproduction of prescribed contents, and when reproducing the prescribed contents in synchronism with another information processing device, receives information indicating a reproduction state of the prescribed contents in another information processing device, and executes control of switching and reproducing the prescribed contents and other contents corresponding to the received information when reproducing the prescribed contents in synchronism with another information processing device. This technique is applicable to an information processing device which synchronously reproduces contents.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reproduction efficiency of contents recorded in a recording medium for multi-layer recording. SOLUTION: A CPU 12 of a PVR 100 detects attribute of input contents, and records the contents in each recording layer of an optical disk 10 in accordance with the attribute. When the contents are already recorded in the optical disk 10 to be recorded, the recording layer and the attribute of the recorded contents are detected, contents are recorded so that the attribute of the recorded contents corresponds to the attribute of the input contents. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent false detection of a motion vector as much as possible. SOLUTION: A video characteristic detection part 4 of a recording/reproducing device 100 sequentially stores input thumbnail images in each 2/4/8/16-field interval, detects the motion vector of each block by block matching processing between a referred field and a reference field having each field interval, discriminates validity of the detected motion vector based on a discriminant function, normalizes each motion vector in accordance with the motion vector in the 2-field interval, combines the normalized valid motion vectors for each block to generate a composite motion vector. The composite motion vector is used for camera characteristic detection processing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seamlessly view a scene that has not been viewed by a user. SOLUTION: A mobile phone 31 transmits history information wherein viewing end information used to calculate viewing end time indicative of relative time in a necessary time needed to reproduce the whole predetermined content and history information are made to correspond to each other when output of the predetermined content being output is ended, and an HDD recorder 32 calculates viewing end time based upon the history information from the mobile phone 31, and reproduces the predetermined content recorded in a recording medium so that the predetermined content begins to be reproduced from timing based upon the calculated viewing end time. The present invention is applicable to, for example, an information processing system wherein a mobile phone and an HDD recorder communicate with each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproducing apparatus capable of executing reproduction only for a scene interval desired by a user at an ordinary speed and carrying out skip reproduction for scene intervals whose reproduction is not desired by the user. SOLUTION: A storage means stores prescribed characteristic data by each classification type of a content. The classification type of the content being a reproduction object is detected, and the prescribed characteristic data of the same classification type or the classification type of the similar kind of the detected content of the reproduction object are acquired from the storage means. At reproduction of a prescribed content, characteristic data by each segment particularized between adjacent delimiters of data of the content being the reproduction object are acquired, the acquired characteristic data of each segment are compared with the prescribed characteristic data to discriminate whether or not both the characteristic data are the same or similar to each other. When it is discriminated that both the characteristic data are the same or similar to each other, the reproduction speed of the acquired segment is controlled to be different from that of other segments. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity for a user to select a stream to be reproduced which is captured in a certain recording medium and in a certain recording system. SOLUTION: When an automatic reproducing mode is set, in which the stream to be reproduced is not selected by the user, first, recording systems of streams recorded in respective recording media set on a tray are confirmed. When the stream captured in a recording system 2 having higher recording rate than the recording system 1 is recorded in any recording medium, the streams are reproduced in the recording system 2 successively, when reproduction of the stream in the recording system 2 is finished, reproduction in the recording system 1 is started. This invention can be applied to a reproducing apparatus which can deal with one or a plurality of recording media. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information signal processing device that enables the effective and efficient use of information signals recorded massively in a recording medium of a large capacity, and also enables the efficient use of a recording medium for recording the information signals. SOLUTION: When an image signal is recorded in a recording medium 8, a prescribed signal zone of a first information signal for use in a digest reproduction is identified on the basis of characteristic information detected by an image classification processing part 5. The first information signal to make a pair and a second information signal formed by being extracted from the first information signal on the basis of the characteristic information are separately recorded in first and second recording areas set according to the prescribed recording system, respectively, by a record processing part 7. The first and second information signals recorded in different recording areas are managed independently. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information signal processing apparatus capable of effectively and efficiently utilizing many information signals recorded on a recording medium with a large capacity and realizing efficient utilization of the recording medium for recording the information signal. SOLUTION: An image classification processing section 5 discriminates similar images of an image signal and classifies also the similarity between similar image sections in the case of recording the image signal on a recording medium 8. Then a classification display section 19 displays one of images in each similar image section as a thumbnail for the similar image section each and contents of the image signals recorded on the recording medium 8 can effectively and efficiently be grasped by a list indication of thumbnails. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that can easily detect a desired image scene and by which a user can selectively and easily reproduce and display a scene desired by the user. SOLUTION: An image filter processing system 85 in a recording and reproducing signal processing system sequentially applies wavelet analysis to an output image through a switch SW1 in a recording mode, an analysis data memory system 86 temporarily stores analysis data at that point of time when the user finds out its desired image, and an analysis data comparison processing section 87 compares the data stored in the analysis data memory system 86 with the analysis data sequentially analyzed by the image filter processing system 85 to detect a similar image.
