SOLUTION: A printer forms an image on paper with dots by discharging ink droplets on paper. The printer 1 is provided with sensors SSBF and SSAF for detecting at which stage paper jamming has occurred inside a main body, before printing, during printing or after printing, and an alarm lamp for lighting to distinguishably indicate the stage the paper jamming has occurred, before, during or after printing, according to the detection result by the sensors SSBF and SSAF.

SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises a front panel 20 having a substantially planar major surface constituting one side of a housing and provided with an opening for fixing a sheet feed tray 40 containing sheets being fed removably to the body and an opening for discharging a printed sheet, and a sheet discharge door 50 fixed to the front panel 20 to be opened/closed freely and being opened in order to discharge a printed sheet from the sheet discharge opening. The sheet discharge door 50 functions as an auxiliary sheet discharge tray under open state and stacks printed sheets discharged from the sheet discharge opening on the upper surface thereof.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which shows high reliability and excellent operational property, especially the improved operational property with regard to attachment and detachment of an optional device, and provides an operator with convenience in use. SOLUTION: A printing device is equipped with a front panel on which a paper feed tray attaching/detaching aperture for attaching a paper feed tray to and detaching it from a printing device body, a paper unloading aperture for unloading a printed paper and an optional device attaching/detaching aperture for attaching an optional device 80 to and detaching it from the body, are perforated. The optional device 80 receives a panel 28 to be fitted to the former and is attached to and detached from the body through the optional device attaching/detaching aperture. When the optional device 80 is mounted on the body, the panel 28 is mounted by fitting it into the optional device attaching/detaching aperture and used as an exterior fitting. When the optional device 80 is removed from the body, the panel 28 is pulled out of the optional device attaching/detaching aperture and then is used as a handle.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an ink containing means and a printer in which a large quantity of ink can be stored through a simple structure while enhancing reliability of ink supply to a print head. SOLUTION: The ink containing means comprises a container 136 having a port communicating with the outside at one end thereof, and a plurality of ink absorbers 141-143 having specified capillary forces and loaded into the container 136 while touching each other. Since the ink absorber 143 having highest capillary force among the ink absorbers 141-143 is loaded to the communication port side, ink can be supplied efficiently to the communication port side regardless of the size of the container or the position of the communication portion port in the ink containing means. Consequently, a large quantity of ink can be stored through a simple structure while enhancing reliability of ink supply to the print head.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain miniaturization and cost reduction by a simple structure, to improve the operability, and to prevent liquid leakage from occurring. SOLUTION: A tank cap member 70 integrated with an ink pack 67 is integrated with a cartridge case 65, thereby constituting a loading member to an ink liquid cartridge loading part 21. The cartridge case 65 constitutes a pack loading space part inside by integrating a lower case 71 and an upper case 72 via a hinge part 73. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly reliable detection by preventing an electrolysis (ionization) of liquid so as not to change the properties of the liquid. SOLUTION: The liquid detection device 10 detects liquid inside containers T1 and T2 which house conductive liquid therein. The device 10 comprises an electrode part 26 (26a-26e), impedance 22 and an alternating current (AC) signal source 21. The electrode part 26 is disposed so as to contact the liquid inside the containers T1 and T2 leading to be energized by the liquid contact. The device 10 is further equipped with a liquid detection circuit 20 and a judgement means 31. The liquid detection circuit 20 outputs a signal indicating an energizing state of the electrode part 26 by inputting an AC signal which does not contain direct current components by way of the impedance 22 from the AC signal source 21 and a binary signal to indicate whether the electrode part 26 is energized or not, based on the output signal. The judgment means 31 determines as to the presence or absence of the liquid in the electrode part 26 based on the binary signal output from the liquid detection circuit 20. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently maintain the liquid discharging performance by reducing discharge defects of a liquid by a liquid discharging head in a liquid discharging performance maintenance method of a liquid discharging apparatus which discharges the liquid from liquid discharging nozzles of the liquid discharging head. SOLUTION: An ink (predetermined liquid) (i) within a printing head 22 which is supplied from an ink tank 4 to be discharged from the ink discharging nozzle 40a is ejected out of an ink-sending pipe 159, and bubbles mixed in the ink (i) are removed, whereby the discharge defects of the ink (i) are reduced in the liquid discharging performance maintenance method. After the execution of bubble removal through ejection of the ink (i) in the printing head 22 is started, the bubble removal is continuously executed until a fixed time passes since the state that no bubbles are present in the ink (i) ejected from within the printing head 22 is detected. The ink discharge defects of the printing head 2 are thus reduced, and the ink discharging performance maintenance is carried out surely. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circulation pump of liquid ejector capable of sucking liquid with a pressure low enough to sustain a meniscus on the liquid surface in a liquid ejection nozzle. SOLUTION: The circulation pump of liquid ejector comprises liquid inlet 41 and outlet 42 provided at one side part of a pump chamber 22 formed in a pump case 40, a stretchable membrane member 27 arranged on the other side part of the pump chamber 22, a rest spring 29 provided in the pump chamber 22 and sucking ink 12 into the pump chamber by pushing the membrane member 27 outward, an operating section 28 provided on the outside of the pump chamber 22 and discharging ink 12 from the pump chamber by pushing the membrane member 27 inward, and a drive section 32 for imparting a pressing force to the operating section 28. The load for pushing the membrane member 27 outward by the rest spring 29 upon releasing the load for pushing the membrane member 27 inward by the operating section 28 is set lower than the above released load. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform proper cleaning by making a blade part slide with a head surface in a stable state. SOLUTION: This cleaning blade is formed of an elastic material wholly in an approximate plate shape long enough to face the head surface 30a of a head plate 30 over the whole area in a moving direction; a mounting part 52 is mounted on a mounting base part 49 which is moved in the state of facing the head plate 30; and the blade part 53 at a leading end part with a predetermined thickness is kept in the state of pressure contact with the head surface 30a and moved in a slide-rubbed state, so that adhesive matter can be scraped off and removed. Supporting-point protrusions 54 and 55 are integrally formed by being protruded in an approximate eaves shape on a side surface, facing at least the moving direction, of the blade part 53, and the mounting part 52 and the blade part 53 are continuously provided by using an elastic displacement part 56.
