Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium, a recorder and a reproducing device which are suitable in expanding a recording and reproduction system used for music for the purpose of data recording and reproduction. SOLUTION: In this recording medium, a sector for recording management information for managing data recording/reproduction and a sector to be used to record/reproduce data are prepared, and one recording/reproduction operation unit (cluster, e.g., 36 sectors = one cluster) consists of the prescribed number of sectors. In the recording medium, reference information corresponding to a recorded data file can be recorded in sectors included in the same recording/reproduction operation unit with respect to a sector provided with a directory for managing data recording/reproduction as the management information. By recording the reference information in a sector in the same cluster as that of the cluster with the directory recorded therein, the reference information (e.g., document head information, icon or the like of data file) for retrieval is accessible without accessing to the reference information in particular, and is useful as a guide to a retrieval operation. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize variable speed voice reproduction with the speed higher than the normal speed by a mini-disk system, etc. SOLUTION: Voice data corresponding to the voice higher than the normal speed are recorded on the recording medium as the voice data sampled with a 2nd time interval longer than the specific time interval, or as the voice data which is obtained by sampling a voice signal reproduced by the high reproducing speed with the specific time interval. When the reproduction is made, the interpolation process is carried out to increase the data amount, and by handling the result as the sampling data with the specific time interval and outputting it, the voice with the speed higher than the original voice is reproduced, or by reproducing the voice having the speed equal to the original voice with an interpolation rate, the long time recording/reproducing operation is attained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify respective storage media immediately after the power switch is turned on again even if the power switch is turned off after system initialization in a disk changer system and make unnecessary to read the heading part data from a storage medium by the initialization when a certain storage medium is extracted from the system and is then set again to the system after the system initialization in the disk changer system in which the disk designated by a user is reproduced continuously immediately from the heading part even if the disk replacement is required. SOLUTION: At the system initialization, the TOC (Table Of Contents) information is read from the respective disks 1a to 1e and is then stored in the TOC memory area of RAM 12. Only the disk identification information among such information is stored in an EEPROM 16 as a non-volatile memory and the heading data is read from respective disks 1a to 1e and is then stored in the heading memory area of RAM 12. The disk identification information stored in the EEPROM 16 is displayed on a dot matrix LED 17 depending on the user instruction.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make pieces of specified music of disks specified by a user to be continuously reproduced from leading parts instantly and without interrupting information even when the exchanging of disks is needed as to many pieces of music while using a memory having a small capacity. SOLUTION: At the time of initializing a system such as the time of supplying a power source to the system, data of leading parts of pieces of music are read out from respective disks and the data are compressed in a data compressing circuit 41 to be stored in a leading part memory in a memory block 12. After initialization, when a certain music of a certain disk is being reproduced, in the case a user requests the reproducing of a certain music of a different disk, at first, the leading part data posterior to the compression of the specified music of the disk specified by the user are read out from the leading part memory and the data are expanded by a data expanding circuit 44 to be outputted. In parallel with this, the disk specified by the user is loaded on a player box and data following the leading part data of the music specified by the user are read out to be written in the main memory in the memory block 12 and the following part data are read out from the main memory after the leading part data posterior to the compression are all read out from the leading part memory.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a magnetic head and to make the device compact by providing a lubricant material between the magnetic head and a magneto-optical recording medium and bringing the magnetic head into contact with the medium through the lubricant material. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head 6 is mechanically brought into contact with a spacer seat 4 in the state that the disk D is chucked and the spacer seat 4 is mounted on the upper surface of the disk. Thus, the magnetic head 6 is pushed down by the force of a leaf spring 8 from the upper surface of the spacer seat 4. Since the space between the recording surface of the disk D and the magnetic head 6 is determined by the thickness of the spacer seat 4, the magnetic head is arranged at a fixed, adjacent position to the recording surface of the disk D. Consequently, since the external magnetic field is given sufficiently without the application of intense magnetic field, the power consumption of the magnetic head 6 is reduced. Also, since the constitution is simple, the device is made compact.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To accurately perform a tracking control at the reproducing time even with a device different from one at the recording time by executing the tracking control of rotary heads with a tracking control signal based on the detected output. CONSTITUTION:A pulse PG of 30Hz from a pulse generator 17, indicating the rotational phase of rotary heads 1A, 1B obtainable with synchronization to the rotation of a motor 18 for rotationally driving the rotary heads 1A, 1B, is supplied to a timing signal generating circuit 16 of the subject reproducing device. Also, a pulse of 30Hz from the timing signal generating circuit 16 is supplied to a phase servo circuit 19 in response to the pulse PG, then the rotational phase of motor 18 is controlled by the servo output. By this procedure, a pilot signal for tracking is surely reproduced and the tracking control of rotary heads can be performed, without being whatever affected by a mechanical secular change, temperature change, or jitter in the device.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enlarge the range in which a modulation magnetic field can be applied by constituting a magnetic circuit by using an E type core in which a cross section of the center core is set so that length in the direction orthogonal thereto is equal to or longer than the direction going toward cores of both sides from the center core. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic circuit is constituted of an E type core 50 in which a cross sectional shape of the center core 50A is a regular square, in the (x) direction going toward cores 50A of both its sides from the center core 50A, as it goes away from the center core 50A to both sides, strength of a modulation magnetic field falls suddenly. On the other hand, in the (y) direction vertical to (x), the strength of the modulation magnetic field falls slowly, and comparing with a head for forming a magnetic field of an axis object by setting a conventional center core 8A as the center axis, a range in which the modulation magnetic field can be applied can be enlarged by 20 - 30%. Subsequently, a head 20 is placed so that the (y) direction of the magnetic head 20 becomes the radial direction of a disk 2, by which even if the arranged position of the head 20 is varied whenever a cover 11 is opened and closed, information can be recorded surely. Accordingly, by that portion, an increase of power consumption is avoided effectively and a magnetooptical disk device 10 of a simple constitution can be obtained.
