Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain a high recording density by setting the core recess generated between the air bearing surface of a slide member and the magnetic core of a thin-film magnetic head element after working of the air bearing surface of the slider member as the spacing loss is the specific dB. CONSTITUTION:The thin-film magnetic head 2 is formed via an alumina layer 3 on one end face la of the slider member 1. This thin-film magnetic head 2 is constituted by forming a lower magnetic film 4 and an upper magnetic film 5 as a pair of magnetic cores and spirally etching and forming a conductor coil 7 via an insulating film 6 between the magnetic films 4 and 5. The lower magnetic film 4 and the upper magnetic film 5 are disposed to face each other at a prescribed depth via a gap spacer 8 on the air bearing surface 1b side of the slider member 1, by which a magnetic gap g is formed. The core recess quantity to be permitted from the max. value of the recording density to be attained is determined and, for example, a 0.5 to 1.5dB region is set as the permissible region of the spacing loss, by which the thin-film magnetic head is formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To extremely improve the output by tilting the head forming surface of 1 slider to the air flowing direction. CONSTITUTION:A head forming surface 3 where the thin film magnetic heads 4 and 5 of a slider 1 are formed is tilted at an angle theta to the air flowing direction X. Then both heeds 4 and 5 are formed on the surface 3 by a vacuum thin film forming technique and the photolithography. That is, both heads 4 and 5 ere provided on the surface 3 approximate to a floating surface 2 so that the tip parts of magnetic cores 10a, 10b, 11a end 11b forming the magnetic gaps g1 and g2 are set at an approximately equal level to the surface 2. Then the cores 10a-11b end the conductor coils 12 and 13 are formed on the surface 3 corresponding to the areas at the rail parts 14 end 15 protruding to the both sides of an air flowing groove 6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the magnetic resistance from increasing and to improve the output by laminating short stripped magnetic cores which are nearly parallel to a track width direction on a lower magnetic body. CONSTITUTION:The lower magnetic body 2 is formed on a substrate 1, a conductor coil 4 and an upper magnetic body 5 are formed thereupon across an insulating film 3, and the lower magnetic body 2 is formed integrally in a specific shape almost at right angles to the track width direction and laminated on the short stripped magnetic core 7 which is nearly parallel to the track width direction. Therefore, the easy-to-magnetize axis of the lower magnetic body is in the same direction with the easy-to-magnetize axes of individual magnetic cores provided in stripes, the array in the track width direction is stabilized, and the lower magnetic body and striped magnetic core are both magnetic bodies, so magnetic path sectional area increases at the part where they are laminated. Consequently, the magnetic resistance is prevented from increasing and the output is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the print quality, by securing a heat radiation supporting board having a recess for containing a drive circuit section to the surface side of a substrate then filling the gap portion with filler and reinforcing/supporting the substrate, thereby protecting the drive circuit section even when the substrate is made thin an improving thermal transmission thus providing a constant coloring density to a printing dot. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor elements 3 such as heating element patterns 2a, 2b or drive circuit section IC are formed on one plane 1a of an abrasion resistant substrate 1,and a heat radiation supporting board 10 is joined integrally tot he side of heating element pattern 2a, 2b and the drive IC 3 through an anti-oxidation layer 8 and an adhesive layer 9. The other face 1b of the substrate 1 is a thermal recording face, and the surface corresponding to the heating element section 2A of the heating element pattern 2a is inclined to become thin, then a thermal recording paper (p) is slided against an inclined face 1b1 and thermal recording is made by means of a platen P. Filler 14 having required hardness is placed in gap section formed between the inner face of a recess 10a in the heat radiation supporting board 10 for securing the drive IC3 and material 12 for sealing the drive IC3.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive higher printing quality, by providing heat generating resistors on a major surface of a substrate along one side edge of the substrate, and performing thermal recording on a side end surface orthogonal to the major surface on the side of the heat generating resistors. CONSTITUTION:A joint part between a heat generating resistor 2 and an electrode 9 is provided by connecting only in one direction on the side of a driving circuit part 3 so as to cover side faces of both end parts 2a of the resistor 2 provided in a split form. A side end surface 1c of a base substrate 1 is smoothly ground on the side of the heat generating resistors 2 provided between the substrate 1 and a protective substrate 5. With the ground side end surface 1c as a recording surface 6, a thermal head is disposed perpendicularly to a platen 7, in the same manner as in the case of an end face type thermal head, and is pressed against the platen 7 with a thermal recording paper S disposed therebetween, whereby thermal recording is conducted. Since the thermal head is disposed perpendicularly to the paper 8, contact characteristics are very good, and excellent printing quality is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance printing quality by obtaining constant developed color density in a printing dot by reducing the temp. irregularity of an inclined recording surface heated by a heat generating resistor part, by forming a heat generating part for preheating to the inclined recording surface part having a printing heat generating part arranged thereto of a substrate to preheat the recording surface part, especially, the thick part of the inclined high part thereof. CONSTITUTION:Corresponding to the inclined recording surface 1b1 of a substrate 1 on the side of the back surface 1b thereof, a printing heat generating part 2A is arranged to the surface of the relatively thin part on the side of the first half part thereof and a heat generating part 3A for preheating is arranged to the surface of the relatively thick part of the side of the latter half part thereof. By this constitution, the conduction of heat from the printing heat generating part 2A to the recording surface 1b1 becomes well. Since the surface of the thick part of the recording surface 1b1 can be preheated by the heat generating part 3A for preheating, the recording surface 1b1 does not generate temp. irregularity even when corresponds to the printing heat generating part 2A in an inclined state and is almost uniformly heated. Constant developed color density can be obtained with respect to the printing dot on thermal paper without raising the heat generating temp. of the printing heat generating part 2A and the efficiency of input power can be enhanced. Further, the dimensional restriction of the substrate 1 can be relaxed to a large extent and miniaturization can be attained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a recording surface of a predetermined thickness, to improve the contact of a platen and to obtain excellent printing quality, by a method wherein a substrate is formed of a transparent or translucent abrasion resistant material and a support heat radiation plate is bonded to the substrate on the heat generating resistor side thereof and thermal recording is performed by the polished surface being a part of the substrate on the rear surface side thereof. CONSTITUTION:Heat generating resistor patterns 2a, 2b divided into the first half and the latter half and a drive circuit part 3 are formed on one plane 1a of a transparent or translucent abrasion resistant substrate 1 and a support heat radiation plate 10 is integrally bonded to the substrate 1 on the sides of the heat generating resistor patterns 2a, 2b and semiconductive element 3 thereof through an oxidation resistant layer 8 and an adhesive layer 9. The back surface side 1b of the substrate 1 becomes a thermal recording surface and formed into a thin inclined surface 1b1 at the part corresponding to the heat generating part 2A of one heat generating resistor pattern 2a and thermal recording paper (p) is allowed to slide with the inclined surface 1b1 to be pressed and held by a platen P to perform thermal recording to the thermal recording paper (p).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement in the resistance to corrosion and abra sion without deteriorating a soft magnetic characteristic by specifying the compo sition ranges of Co, Si and Al and further adding Ru of specified atm% in an alloy thin film of Fe-Co-Si-Al group. CONSTITUTION:This soft magnetic thin film is mainly composed of Fe, Co, Si and Al and the composition ranges of said Co, Si and Al are 1-15atm% Co and 10-20atm% Si, 8-15atm% Al. Furthermore, Ru of 0.1-10atm% is included. In case of the composition of the soft magnetic thin film as Fe68Co10 Al9Si13-xRux (figures represent atm%), when the quantity of abrasion 15 examined while changing the addition quantity (x) of Ru, the quantity of abrasion becomes extremely small according to an increase in addition quantity of Ru, for example, even after the 30hr running of a magnetic head and more sperior resistance to abrasion than Sendust can been observed when Ru is 4atm%.
