    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain interchangeability between a large-sized and a small-sized cassette tape and to improve sound recording performance by constituting a small-sized cassette tape recording and reproducing system for a large-sized cassette tape recording and reproducing system, and using tapes of the same size and setting specular-surface video patterns and an audio signal track. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and the 2nd recording and reproducing systems 10 and 20 consist of a portable TV camera 1 which incorporates a magnetic recording device 2 for S cassette tapes, a magnetic recording and reproducing device 4 dedicated to S tape cassettes, a TV receiver 5, a magnetic transferring machine 6 which performs magnetic transfer from an S cassette tape 3 to an L cassette tape 9, a TV screen 7, and a VTR8 for L cassette tapes 9. Through a magnetic head H and a rotating roller R, the recording pattern of an S tape 3 is transferred to an L tape 9 of the same size in specular-surface symmetrical relation and tracks ch1 and ch2 for audio signals and a track for CTL are formed over and under a video signal along both edges. Therefore, cassette tapes (S and L) are compatible and recording performance is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the automatic focus device of a simple constitution which does not require any special sensor by causing automatic focusing by the electric signals corresponding to the imaging of the focus information by the plural lenses of different focal lengths. CONSTITUTION:The focus information by the multilenses 2 of different focal lengths which are of rectangular shape or the like and are provided on their back with the openings 10 of the size four times the target images of respectively opposing vidicons 9a is imaged to outside the effective image plane by the main lens and the focus information converted to electric signals by the vidicons 9 is generated. If the position of the main lens is controlled according to this information, the automatic focusing controlling is accomplished by the simple constitution of not requiring any special sensor without the production of noise, etc. because of the absence of any moving part at the focus information detection.
