Abstract:
A direct drill seeding unit comprising a coulter wheel (5), a pair of depth control wheels (7) and a splitter (9) where the main components of the seeding unit are pivoted on an elongate arm (1) which is connected to a common or main frame (3). The pivotal movement of the unit allows a gang of the seeding units to follow undulating land in a very faithful manner. Furthermore the splitter (9) is capable of variable height and angle relative to the ground level according to the vertical position of the elongate arm such that as the arm moves up the splitter shall automatically compensate by lowering in order to maintain contact with the soil. The adjustment of the splitter is effected by the trapezoid configuration of the 4 pivoting points and the ''L'' shaped common linkages (4).
Abstract:
A precision seed drill row unit (10) comprises a seeding unit (20) mounted on a toolbar (12) by a suspension mechanism (14) comprising sliding forks (34, 36) whereby contour following under the action of soil-engageable wheel (16) is damped by sliding friction in the forks so as to produce a more balanced contour following action.
Abstract:
A scraper blade for a depth gauge assembly having a connecting portion attached to an elongated portion. The elongated portion has an outward concave edge that mirrors an outer surface of a depth gauge wheel.
Abstract:
Described herein are systems, implements, and methods for seed orientation during planting operations of agricultural plants of agricultural fields. In one embodiment, a system for seed orientation includes a seed disk capable of rotation in operation and having at least one singulator to adjust an orientation of seed to a desired seed orientation for placement within a furrow during planting. A vision system in proximity to the seed disk determines seed orientation data for seed on the seed disk.

Abstract:
An apparatus (23, 123) includes a hinge mount top plate (22, 122), a hinge mount bottom plate (26, 126), and a pin (28) connecting the top plate (22, 122) and bottom plate (26, 126). A cam adjuster element (34, 134) includes a top aperture (46, 146), a middle aperture (47, 147), and a bottom aperture (36, 136). A first fastener (42) passes through the top aperture(46, 146) to connect the cam adjuster element (34, 134) to the hinge mount top plate(22, 122). The first fastener (42) may be disposed in different positions in the top aperture (46, 146). A second fastener (42) passes through the middle aperture (47, 147) to connect the cam adjuster element (34, 134) to the hinge mount top plate (22, 122). The cam adjuster element (34, 134) may pivot about a longitudinal axis (37) of the second fastener (42). The pin (28) is retained in the bottom aperture (36, 136). An assembly includes a disc (10), a seed boot (12, 112), and a mounting mechanism (23, 123) that allows for movement between the seed boot (12, 112) and the disc (10) about first pivot axis (29) and second pivot axis (37).
Abstract:
A planter for planting multiple rows of seeds in which the spacing between rows and the spacing between seeds in a row can be varied includes at least two planting units, each planting unit adapted for planning a row of seeds, the planting units being mounted so that.he spacing between the at least two of the planting units can be changed, and the rate of planting of at least one of the planting units being independently changeable. A method of planting seeds in a field with a multi-row planter having a plurality of planting units each adapted for planting a row of seeds, includes selectively changing ai least one of the spacing between at least two adjacent planting units and the rate of operation of at least one of the planting units during the planting so that at least one of the row spacing or the seed spacing in the rows is not uniform across the planted field.
