Abstract:
A paste formation pattern for odd numbers on which dot groups are arranged in an island form and a paste formation pattern for even numbers on which dot groups are arranged at opposing positions to the dot groups on the paste formation pattern for odd numbers in an island form are set. Further, a paste discharge head is controlled such that the set paste formation pattern for odd numbers is formed on an adhesion surface of an odd-numbered sheet of paper and the discharge head is controlled such that the set paste formation pattern for even numbers is formed on an adhesion surface of an even-numbered sheet of paper.
Abstract:
An adhesive application apparatus sets a dot pattern such that an amount of paste applied to an area on the reverse side of an area on which an image is formed and an amount of paste applied to an area on the reverse side of an area on which the image is not formed are different from each other, and controls a paste discharge head so that the dot pattern having been set is formed on an adhesion surface of paper. Through this, the amount of paste applied to paper can be changed between an area where an image is formed and an area where the image is not formed, thereby making it possible to apply the paste to paper more appropriately in accordance with the state of image formation.
Abstract:
A board book album having stiff pages constructed from layers of white board material and having “hidden pockets,” each pocket holding two photographs, back-to-back, that are framed in die cutout openings in each page. Spacers to which the backs of the spreads forming the pages are glued allow each page to accommodate the thickness of the photographs without damaging the outer binding. Each photograph is protected by a piece of clear plastic. Each page can have a small concave notch along its unbound edge in order to allow a user to turn the pages more easily. The cover can have a frame attached thereto for holding a photograph. The album is sturdy enough to be handled by a small child without the photographs being damaged.
Abstract:
A machine and method are provided for making a lay-flat book or album with multiple pages. The machine includes a base with first and second supports. Paper forming the book pages is creased and placed front face down upon the supports and held in position by a vacuum. An adhesive is applied to the back of one page, and then the supports pressed together to adhere the pages together. Hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders move the supports, as controlled by electrical or electronic circuitry in a control panel. Thus, a semi-automatic process is provided for gluing the book pages together.
Abstract:
An apparatus for protecting a layout of loose elements of a draft scrapbooking page includes a flat work surface dimensioned to receive thereon a scrapbooking page and an overlay. The overlay is magnetically cohered to the work surface when the overlay is placed over the work surface in covering disposition to a scrapbooking page, including scrapbooking elements loosely placed on such scrapbooking page, located between the overlay and the work surface. The improvement is characterized in that the apparatus includes, under the work surface, an array of magnets, and the overlay comprises a thin and pliable metallic rubber sheet, the overlay thereby cohering to the work surface due to magnetic force of attraction between the magnets of the array and the thin and pliable metallic rubber sheet. The array includes magnets arranged in a concentric elliptical pattern including, for example, a concentric circular pattern or a concentric non-circular pattern.
Abstract:
A bound book for displaying photographs and the like including a carrier sheet arrangement folded at least once to provide two carrier sheets separated by a fold and having respective dimensions similar a pair of display sheets, such as photographs, to be displayed. The display sheets are mounted on the respective carrier sheets by respective fastening layers. In one embodiment, the fastening layers include pressure sensitive adhesive and an associated support structure to prevent the pressure sensitive adhesive for adhering during assembly of the book when the display sheets are initially positioned over the fastening layers. The carrier sheet arrangement, display sheets and fastening layers are positioned within a cover assembly, with pressure then being applied to the cover assembly so as to activate the pressure sensitive adhesive and thereby secure the respective display sheets to the respective carrier sheets.
Abstract:
A memorabilia container includes a box-like receptacle to the memorabilia. The receptacle has opposite upstanding side walls and an upstanding rear wall joining the side walls. The side walls and the rear wall have respective upper edges. A side lid is hingedly connected to each side wall. The side lid hinges are attached to the side walls below the upper edges of the side walls so that the side wall upper edge stops the side lid from opening beyond a predetermined angle. Each side lid has an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an outer edge. The side lids close together with their outer edges abutting. A rear lid is hingedly connected to the rear wall. The rear wall hinge is attached to the rear wall below the upper edge of the rear wall, so that the rear wall upper edge stops the rear lid from opening beyond a predetermined angle. The rear lid has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The rear lid closes first, and the side lids close together over the rear lid. Photograph retainers are mounted on interior surfaces of the side lids and the rear lid.
Abstract:
An assembly including an album page adapted for inclusion on an album for displaying an applied display sheet, comprising in a page having retention shoulders proximate page corners, and a transparent protector sheet loosely applied to the page to extend over the display sheet and having edges retained by shoulders to orient the protector sheet relative to the page and the display sheet.
Abstract:
A photo/photo cartridge delivery/storage packet is particularly suited for the products of Advanced Photo Systems (APS) processing. Such packet has first and second sheet-like cover members disposed in spaced, substantially parallel planes. Each member has a spine-adjacent edge and a sheet-like spine interconnecting the cover members along such edges. A plurality of sheet-like photos is between the cover members and is removably/replaceably secured to the spine by adhesive. There is a structural element against either the second cover member or an additional insert card for securing the photo cartridge associated with the photos. The packet may also have a fold-over flap which aids in securing the photographs in the packet.
