Abstract:
A method and apparatus is disclosed for providing an expandable threaded connection between segments of expandable tubulars is disclosed. Threaded connections are machined into pre-expanded ends (10, 20) of tubulars. Once the threaded connections are machined into the pre-expanded ends (10, 20), two joints (1) of tubulars are connected using the threads, thus creating a pre-expanded threaded connection. After a tubular string is made up and lowered into a wellbore, the entire length of the string is expanded using known methods for expanding tubulars. During the downhole expansion operation, the pre-expanded threaded connections experience minimal expansion. The minimal downhole expansion of the pre-expanded threaded connections allows the threaded connections to maintain their sealing ability and coupling strength.
Abstract:
A tube fitting (11) capable of absorbing vibration and shock resulting from a high pressure fluid passing through the tube fitting while it is used. The tube fitting comprises a connection head (11), a connection nipple (31), and an intermediate connection member (51). The connection head (11) and the connection nipple (31) are provided with an annular collar (15,36) projecting from an end surface of the connection head (11) and the connection nipple (31). The connection head (11), the connection nipple (31) and the intermediate connection member (51) are integrally united by inserting the annular collars (15,36) into the ends of the intermediate connection member (51).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a socket pipe connection for a pipe that conducts a fluid. Said connection has a hollow cylindrical receiving part (2) which has an inner receiving area (4) that extends axially. A hollow cylindrical connector (3) is introduced into the receiving part (2) in an axial direction. Said connector (3) has projections (13) which are radial on the outside and which engage between the projections (12) of the receiving part (2) in order to prevent twisting. The projections (12, 13) of the receiving part (2) and/or of the connector (3) are preferably different and in particular of different heights. This ensures sufficient prevention of twisting even with relatively large dimensional tolerances.
Abstract:
Fittings (10) of this invention generally comprise a body (12) having a substantially hollow transport passage (14) that extends between a body first end (16) and a body second end (18). Each of the fitting body ends (16,18) are adapted to accommodate attachment with respective fluid handling devices. The fitting (10) includes a hexagonal outside surface (32) portion for grasping and rotating the fitting (10). An interlocking attachment member (24) is disposed along an outside surface of the fitting body (12) and is adapted to form an interlocking attachment with a complementary member of a fluid handling device when the fitting (10) is connected thereto. In an example embodiment, the interlocking attachment member (24) comprises a plurality of rachet teeth (26) that are configured to register with a complementary fluid handling device member. The fitting body first end (16) includes a tongue (22) that projects axially a distance therefrom that is sized and shaped to provide an interference fit within a groove disposed within a fluid handling device opening. The tongue-in-groove attachment provides a leak-tight seal between the fitting (10) and the fluid handling device.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for assembling a high purity liquid distribution system is described. A distal end portion of the tube is heated then pushed over a sleeve so that the distal end portion can have a shrink seal fit over the sleeve to mitigate accidental or inadvertent pull out of the tube from a fitting. Other benefits are also achieved such as minimal flow restriction of the liquid flowing through the joint and the tube.
Abstract:
An alignment tool for positioning and aligning the adjacent ends of pipes in optimum desired relation for joining the tubular sections by welding. The alignment tool comprises a first and second annularly shaped clamping rings and a plurality of swivel assemblies connecting and circumferentially spaced about the first and second clamping rings, wherein the swivel assemblies adjust the distance between the first and second clamping rings and adjust the first and second clamping rings transversely and axially with respect to each other. Each swivel assembly comprises a first swivel portion connected to the first clamping ring, a second swivel portion connected to the second clamping ring, and a threaded bolt extending through the first swivel portion and the second swivel portion. The first swivel portion comprises an axel alignment swivel including a longitudinal shaft with a first partial spherical portion at its center, wherein the first partial spherical portion is retained within a bore extending through the first clamping ring. The second swivel portion comprises a second partial spherical portion that is retained within a bore extending through the second clamping ring.

Abstract:
A pressurized fluid delivery apparatus, such as a pressure washer or sprayer, includes a pump for providing a pressurized fluid, a conduit fluidly connected with the pump to receive the pressurized fluid, a fluid accessory fluidly connected with the conduit to receive the pressurized fluid from the conduit, and a quick-disconnect assembly selectively fluidly connecting the fluid accessory and the conduit. The quick-disconnect assembly includes a male fitting coupled to one of the fluid accessory and the conduit. The male fitting includes a male component and a non-circular outer surface. The quick-disconnect assembly also includes a female fitting coupled to the other of the fluid accessory and the conduit. The female fitting includes a female component having an opening for receiving the male component and a non-circular inner surface coupled to the non-circular outer surface to prevent rotation between the male fitting and the female fitting.
