Abstract:
A receiver apparatus and a method for controlling the access to at least a portion of a content broadcasted via satellite, wherein the receiver apparatus includes a receiver for receiving broadcast signals configured for receiving at least a broadcast signal having at least a content, a receiver for receiving terrestrial signals configured for receiving at least a terrestrial signal, and a processor configured for determining access information on the basis of at least the received terrestrial signal, and allowing or blocking, on the basis of at least the access information, the access to the at least one content of the broadcast signal.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for operating a radio receiving device, which receives and outputs a radio signal which transmits a radio station signal of a selected radio station. The method comprises acquiring radio channels which transmit the radio station signal of the selected radio station by means of a separate radio channel-specific radio signal in each case, ascertaining radio channel-specific parameters of the acquired radio channels, generating radio channel-specific radio station signals by processing the radio signals of the radio channels in consideration of the respective radio channel-specific parameters, standardizing the generated radio channel-specific radio station signals, superimposing the standardized radio channel-specific radio station signals to form a reception radio station signal, and outputting the reception radio station signal.
Abstract:
A radio includes a first tuner and a second tuner. A processor compares a first perceivable volume level of a station tuned by the first tuner to at least one second perceivable volume level of at least one background station tuned by the second tuner. The processor enables automatic volume knob changes using a pre-calibrated lookup table that associates a volume step of the volume knob with a difference between the first perceivable volume level and the second perceivable volume level.
Abstract:
A method of performing alternate frequency switching in a radio includes tuning the radio to a primary frequency. A candidate alternate frequency is identified. It is determined whether the candidate alternate frequency is a third order inter-modulation artifact. Tuning is switched from the primary frequency to the candidate alternate frequency only if it is determined in the determining step that the candidate alternate frequency is not a third order inter-modulation artifact.
Abstract:
Embodiments of methods and systems for reception improvement of FM tuners are provided. An example method according to the disclosure includes receiving one or more FM broadcast signals in a common channel (Co-C) situation and provides for receiving one or more FM broadcast signals, selecting a preferred signal and outputting said signal as an IF signal. When a Co-C situation occurs, the method calculates a correlation of the one or more signals and outputs the signal showing a larger consistency value.
Abstract:
Method for managing, in a receiver, a radio service continuity based on synchronized broadcasts of identical audio contents on different frequencies, comprising, the receiver being tuned to a first frequency corresponding to a first broadcast of a first audio content, a detection in the receiver of a second audio content broadcast on a second frequency, having a level of quality above a threshold and paired with the first audio content.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for aiding user content navigation are described. An exemplary system may include an electronic device configured to receive audiovisual content and/or user inputs. The electronic device may additionally include one or more outputs coupled with a display device. The electronic device may further include one or more processors as well as memory, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause them to perform one or more navigation functions to receive a channel change command to adjust from a first channel to a second channel. The one or more processors may further be caused to determine that the second channel is presenting advertising content instead of program content, and determine that a third channel is presenting program content. The one or more processors may further be caused to adjust the output to the third channel.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a broadcasting signal receiving apparatus including: at least one first input port, and a second input port which is provided separately from the first input port, the at least one first input port and the second input port are configured to receive a broadcasting signal; at least one first tuner configured to process the broadcasting signal; a first main switch configured to selectively connect the second input port with the at least one first tuner; and a controller configured to control the first main switch so that a first broadcasting signal received in the at least one first input port or a second broadcasting signal received in the second input port is input to the at least one first tuner.

Abstract:
Data transmitted over different channels may be updated by receiving one or more input data streams containing data for one or more digital data services, wherein the data is in the form of a plurality of packets, wherein each packet includes information identifying a channel and a number of related downstream packets; determining from the plurality of packets a time that an update packet containing data for one of the digital data services will be transmitted as part of the signal; and generating a schedule packet containing the time that the update packet will be transmitted as part of a signal.
