A method of informing destination node of the processed result from a facsimile equipment or a printing device comprising the steps of extracting the electronic mail address of the node from facsimile data or prints received from an originating node through a LAN, detecting the processed results of the facsimile equipment or printing device, and transmitting the detected processed results to the electronic mail address of the destination node.

In a facsimile communication method in which facsimile data are transmitted to a reception-side terminal from a facsimile through a communication network, the facsimile transmits facsmile data through the following steps: (a) a step of storing the image data of an original to be transmitted as the facsimile data in a storage device; (b) a step of generating access information used for making an access to the image data stored in the storage device from the reception-side terminal through the communication network; (c) a step of sending the access information to the reception-side terminal by electronic mail; and (d) a step of transmitting the image data stored in the storage device to the reception-side terminal from the facsimile according to the communication protocol of point-to-point data transferring method when the facsimile receives a request to access the image data from the reception-side terminal.

A memory card (103) for use in an electronic apparatus (101) is proposed. In order to control an electronic apparatus (101) with an inbuilt processor (301) incapable of exporting digital data externally of the electronic apparatus (101), a user local at the electronic apparatus (101) is required to operate the electronic apparatus (101). This is not always convenient. The proposed memory card (103) has a wireless module (207) for receiving an instruction wirelessly from a remote wireless-enabled apparatus (105), and also a central processor (201) for controlling the inbuilt processor (301) of the electronic apparatus (101) in accordance with the received instruction.
Abstract:
Means (1) for transmitting/receiving an electronic mail to/from a network is provided. From a received mail, its identification information is generated and a reply mail including the identification information is sent to the sender of the mail. When an attached file of the received mail cannot be opened, a message ID of the received mail is added in the identification information. In such a manner, even when a large capacity memory or a hard disk is not provided, whether the data has been sent normally or erroneously is reported to the sender accurately and easily.

An information processing system is provided that simplifies a logout procedure in an information processing apparatus that has a Web browser that operates together with a Web server that serves as an external apparatus, while maintaining the operational feel of the Web browser. To accomplish this, in the present information processing system, the Web server is notified of a user instruction input via an operation screen of the Web browser provided from the Web server as an event. Here, the Web server analyzes the notified event, and if this event is a logout request, the Web server executes processing for logging out of the Web server, and also notifies the Web browser of the logout request. The Web browser executes processing for logging out of the Web browser upon receipt of the logout request from the Web server.

PURPOSE: An image scanning apparatus and a scanning method for the same are provided to transmit a scanned data to various devices in a network. CONSTITUTION: A DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) apparatus searcher(160) searches one or more DLNA apparatus capable of connecting an image scanning apparatus. A communication interface unit(110) acquires device information about the searched DLNA devices. A user interface unit(120) display one or more searched DLNA list by receiving a scan-to-DLNA command. A scan unit(130) creates a scanned image by scanning a document. A control unit(180) controls the communication interface in order to transmit the scanned image to the DLNA device.
