Abstract:
This invention provides a looped item or device attached to a document cover of a xerographic copier so that a wheelchair occupant can pull the document cover down over the platen glass. Better copies are obtained when the cover is down and the automatic document feeder is not accessible until the document cover is down over the platen glass. This invention provides a simple but effective way for a wheelchair occupant to easily use the automatic document feeder even when a previous user of the copier leaves the document cover up away from the platen glass. The loop provided in the looped item (lanyard or handle) is important to this invention.
Abstract:
A reader includes a housing with a platen on which a document is placed, a light source unit which moves along the platen and irradiates light toward the document, a mirror unit which works with the light source unit to define an optical path of the reflected light from the document in the housing, and a rotatable lock member mounted on one of the light source and mirror units. The housing includes an operation member, which is slid to fix the light source and mirror units, and a slide surface, which holds the sliding operation member. The lock member is rotated between an engaged position, where the lock member is engaged with another of the light source and mirror units, and a disengaged position, where the lock member is disengaged from the other of the light source and mirror units in response to slide operation of the operation member.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes: a moving body on which a catch receiving portion is formed and which is movable in a predetermined direction; a fixing body on which a catching portion is formed to catch the catch receiving portion, and which is movable in a direction substantially orthogonal to the predetermined direction; a first position retaining portion for engaging a projected portion, formed on either one of a housing and the fixing body, with a first recessed portion formed on the other so that the fixing body can be retained in a position in which the catching portion catches the catch receiving portion; and a second position retaining portion for engaging the projected portion with a second recessed portion, formed on either the housing or the fixing body on which the first recessed portion is formed.

Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a document positioning plate configured to position a document thereon, a document pressing unit which is attached to the document positioning plate to be openable and closable, a reading sensor which is movably arranged in a main body of the apparatus and configured to read an image of the document positioned on the document positioning plate, and a restricting unit configured to engage with the reading sensor to restrict a movement of the reading sensor, wherein the restricting unit has a lever which is provided in the document pressing unit in a rotatable and storable manner and urged in a direction in which the lever is stored and restricts the movement of the reading sensor in a state that the document pressing unit is closed and the lever is inserted into the main body of the apparatus, and when the document pressing unit is opened from the restricting state, the lever is pulled out from the main body of the apparatus to release the restriction and urged to be stored in the document pressing unit.
Abstract:
A locking apparatus for a movable carry module, comprises a controller using to fix the movable carry module of an electric device. The controller has a movable locking shaft normality stretch in the movable carry module, and applies to fix the movable carry module. The electric device supplies the electric power to the controller when receiving the external electric power, and then the locking shaft departs from the movable carry module, such that the movable carry module can move freely.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the claimed subject matter comprise a movable locking device for a scanner. In one embodiment, the movable locking device is used to affix a moving mechanical part inside a scanner, such as inside an optical chassis of the scanner. In this embodiment, the scanner comprises a platform, a lifting cover and a hinge set. The scanner uses the hinge set to allow the lifting cover to rotate relatively to the platform. The locking device includes a movable structure member and a buckling groove, in which the movable structure member includes a stopping piece and a holding rod used as the axis of rotation of the hinge set.
Abstract:
A chassis locking apparatus capable of being unlocked spontaneously is used for fixing the chassis in a scanner. The locking apparatus includes a groove interlinking next to the electric socket, a push rod in the groove, and a revolving locking element. By means of the strength of inserting the plug into the socket on the scanner, the push rod is pushed to move along the groove and hit the locking element, which is originally fixed on the chassis, to make the locking element rotate so that the chassis locking apparatus can be unlocked spontaneously. Therefore, no effort is necessary for a user to unlock the chassis locking apparatus by hand before using the scanner, which is convenient and timesaving.
Abstract:
An optical module apparatus equipped with a latch coupler includes a carrier movable on a guiding rod. The guiding rod is coupled with a turnable check member. When the optical module apparatus is on a flat and using position, the check member may pass through a check trough to enable the carrier to move freely and linearly and reciprocally. When the optical module apparatus is mounted in an inclined manner and moved away from the using position, the check member is subject to the gravity force and turns in parallel with the direction of the gravity force, and is latched on the check trough to restrict the moving range of the carrier. Thus the optical module apparatus may be prevented from moving by external forces during transportation and avoid being damaged.
Abstract:
A locking device for locking a movable module of an electronic apparatus disclosed by the invention mainly includes a control member and a latch connected to the control member. The control member is selectively movable between a first position for locking the movable module and a second position for releasing the movable module. When the latch stops at the first position, it also latches onto an operational interface or a mechanism component so as to prevent the user from electrically or mechanically operating the apparatus.
